Found changes to xmtopas that comes with AIX 6.1.03 (6100-03)
XMTOPAS is part of perfagent.tools which goes from 6.1.2.2 to 6.1.3.0
I've found 2 changes so far:
The default log has moved
from:
/etc/perf/xmservd.log1 (and .log2)
to
/etc/perf/xmtopas.log1 (and .log2)
The .res file has moved to a new directory and filename
It was in /usr/lpp/perfagent/xmservd.res
It's now in /etc/perf/xmtopas.res
It still has just one line:
dosmux
If you don't move the .res file you get these messages in the log:
Error: Unable to open file /etc/perf/xmtopas.res
Spmi: SMUX is un-initialized; can't register context
XMTOPAS will start but be unable to connect to SNMP
Once I fixed these it works just fine.
If anyone knows where there's documentation on xmtopas (not xmservd), I'd love
to know.
