I'm currently runnng the 2.4.1 VM. Everything was fine, didn't experience any
issues at all. Suddenly, today at about noon, I tried to run a discover.
Inside the gui, the log showed this error:

Code:

ZenSocket Error: zensocket needs to be run as root or setuid

Job completed at 2009-06-17 12:42:11. Result: failure.

At this time, I noticed that my zenping, zensyslog, and zentrap were no longer
running. They had stopped around the same time. I did some searching around
the forums, and found

http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?t=9260&highlight=zensocket+error
(I didn't want to just reply in there, as those were for earlier versions of
zenoss than I am currently running.)

And followed the instructions in there. I checked my mount perms, I changed
the permissions of the file itself. Still nothing. I don't see any errors
regarding these services no longer working, even in the messages file. I
restarted Zenoss, I rebooted the server. None of it is working. I'm a bit at
a loss with what actually went wrong here. Anyone have this happen to them at
all? What did you do to fix it?
