Is there a way to monitor DNS zone transfers and get an alert if it fails? I am the administrator of my DNS server (Windows Server 2003) but I do not have any control of the DNS server requesting the transfer (BIND).
I was thinking that if there is a way to configure an alert when an event is not generated in my servers that may work. Whenever there is a zone transfer my DNS server will write an event to the EventLog. If the transfer fails it will not log anything. Any ideas?
