Yes, if I set the linkUp event to clear, then it does clear itself, and the 
corresponding linkDown.
However, I want to know when an interface went down then back up, rather than 
it just being invisible. Ideally, I'd like the linkUp to clear itself and the 
linkDown, as well as generating a new internal event that I create 
(linkFlapped) or something.

If this is possible, I expect I'd have to use some python in the event 
transform, but haven't been able to find any info on it in any docs, so I was 
hoping I could get some confirmation whether or not it was possible, and if so, 
if anyone had any examples I could look at.
