No step by step I'm aware of. What do you want to monitor in that case?

If it's whether a run is missed, you could modify your script / app to 
send a heartbeat each time it runs to Zenoss (via some sort of event 
generation), and use the instructions show here:
http://www.zenoss.com/community/wiki/tips-and-tricks/HowToUseZenossHeartbeatsForYourOwnMonitoredDevices
Changing 600 seconds to ~ 3600 seconds or some such...

Alternatively, if you want to know something else about the regular run, 
we'll probably need more info to help.
