Tried it here. It doesn't fail with head :( Anyway, the scenario is interesting as it should produce only couple of commands to be written to the mailbox. There are some inherent problems with mailbox (see my previous email), however, this use case should just work OK. If it fails, it's a straightforward bug. Let's keep trying to reproduce it.
