Hi all, On IRC, Mikko raised the issue that 3.0's wire protocol is not compatible with 2.1, meaning any migration to 3.0 has to involve an entire network at once (meaning downtime, and no way to make partial upgrades).
After some discussion, we'd like to use the 2.2 branch to create a migration path. Basically it means making 2.2 able to speak old and new versions of the protocol, so that architectures can first upgrade parts to 2.2, and then to 3.0 over time. I've started a roadmap page here: http://www.zeromq.org/docs:2-2 It would be useful to get feedback on this proposal from people who'd like to upgrade to 3.0 (e.g. to get subscription forwarding). -Pieter _______________________________________________ zeromq-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zeromq.org/mailman/listinfo/zeromq-dev
