Amr,

An IDENTITY may be as few as 0 bytes or as many as 255 bytes. Four bytes is 
clearly within that range.

If you set your own explicit IDENTITY, you may choose one of any length from 0 
to 255 bytes. If you do not set *your own* explicit IDENTITY, then the system 
will do it for you. It chooses an IDENTITY of length 4. What is so hard to 
understand about this?
