Hello, I don't know coveralls, but I assume it is a elaborate code coverage tools. Basically it tells you how well the codebase is covered by the unit test suite. I suppose as long as the tool is free for open source it cannot hurt to merge the pull request.
At best it's useful to see how well the tests cover the codebase, and worst you don't use it.
