Hi all,

I have met Pieter twice. But it was impossible to resist his energy and
charm. I saw him coding live, which was so amazing I try to copy him all
the time.

However I owe him for non technical a lot. It's amazing how huge influence
he had.I chat with him about my private problems and his reactions were
amazing!

I lost my close friend and a mentor today :-(

I’m deeply impressed by how Pieter embodied the Free/Open Source spirit and
applied it even to his own passing away, making everybody, in some sense, a
part of his family.

If I observed correctly his number of Twitter followers has grown
substantially over the last days and weeks, and my gut feeling says that
many new people will start reading Pieter’s excellent writings and also
contribute to ZeroMQ. For those who knew Pieter it will be a sad, and
intense, experience to re-read him.

colleagues.
