Dharna against Government’s ‘anti-Dalit’ policies

VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam Party SC cell activists on Thursday held a dharna near Sub CollectorÂ’s office protesting against the GovernmentÂ’s anti-Dalit policies and negligence of weaker sections.
In a memorandum submitted to the Sub Collector, they deplored that Government was not showing interest to fulfil their election promise to implement Justice Punnaiah CommissionÂ’s recommendations made for the welfare of these sections.
They demanded the implementation of those recommendations immediately.
They expressed concern over increase in the prices of essential commodities.
The regulatory mechanism adopted during the
TDP regime to control these prices was disappeared, they said.
SC cell leaders JS Manoranjan, P Lazaras and BV Krishna were present.
