SOUTHERN NEWS - KARNATAKA Apr 16, 2007 'Rs 37 crore for BCM hostels' Monday April 16 2007 08:08 IST MADIKERI: The state government has reserved Rs 37 crore in the Budget to construct the hostels for backward and minority communities, state BJP Yuva Morcha president Girish Mattannanavar. After taking part in a Dr BR Ambedkar birth anniversary function held in Kushalanagar on Saturday, he told presspersons that in the state most of the hostels were lacked basic infrastructures including own buildings. The issue had been brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister and he responded positively by earmarking Rs 37 crore, he added. He also said that the Yuva Morcha workers would visit the hostels and monitor the situation. He regretted that few Dalit organizations had been misusing the name and facility of the Dalits by exploiting the community people. District BJP SC Morcha president Kalaiah, town unit president GL Nagaraju and members BB Bharatesh, Karthick and others were present.
