Dalits allowed to enter house [ 2007-4-19 ] Dolkha, April 18: Vice Chairman of the Human Rights and Peace Society, Dolakha, Girendra Malla allowed the Dalits to enter his house. Malla, a resident of Laduk VDC, ward no.5, 11 miles of district head quarter of Charikot of Dolakha district organized a programme to allow Dalits to enter his house in order to draw attention of the government towards socialization of the Dalits, which he said, has not happened although the interim government has declared the state free from untouchability. With the main motto 'If one is to change society, it has to begin from oneself', Malla allowed 70 Dalits to enter his house. About 400 people including representatives of eight political parties were present at the function.
