POKHARA, April 26 - General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC) and
Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Ram Chandra Poudel said
Thursday the government is ready to hold dialogue in group or one to
one separately regarding the demands raised by the various groups
including Madheshi, indigenous and Dalits.
Speaking at a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union, Kaski, today,
Minister Poudel said there is nothing for give and take as the
government has been formed as per the eight-party consensus following
the people's movement.

Minister Poudel said, "How and when will the Constituent Assembly (CA)
elections be held should immediately be decided," adding, "Eight
parties should quickly give decision to the people with the confidence
of telling the truth with transparent behaviour."

Keeping in mind the people's will, the government should fix the date
of CA polls on an appropriate time as per the eight-party agreement
after the Election Commission's concepts are made public on the
elections, Minister Poudel said.

"However, the importance of the CA elections should not be belittled
on any pretext," said Poudel. He added that the eighty parties should
be responsible for both the works done and those to be done as all the
works are initiated as per their agreement.

Stating that NC President Girija Prasad Koirala has already called for
republicanism, Minister Poudel made it clear that NC is not in favour
of continuing with the king, but that, "All the works should be
carried out with legal procedures, and not in haste in an immature
manner."
