LSQ-DATA Govt asks industry to incorporate data about SC/ST recruitment NEW DELHI, MAY 3 (PTI) Government has asked various trade associations and apex industries to incorporate data about employment provided to Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes in their annual report, the Lok Sabha was informed today. As part of the dialogue on Affirmative Action for SC and STs with the apex industry and trade associations, it was suggested to explore whether data on SC/STs recruited from January one, 2007, could be incorporated in the annual report of 2006-07. This was stated by Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan in the House while replying to a written question. She said some associations of industry and trade had informed that efforts would be made to include data on SCs and STs from January one, 2007 in the annual reports of the corporates. Task Force: The inter-ministerial Task Force on implications of the geographical distribution of minorities in India was to identify town and cities having substantial concentration of minority population requiring special attention, Minority Minister A R Antulay said in reply to another question. He said it would also identify existing schemes and programmes from which funds could be channelised to such localities for implementation.
