Debanjan is a "B.E. (JU), MBA from IIT Bombay. Lived and worked in Calcutta, Mumbai, Bangalore and now in Singapore. Last three years I am working in the area of financial risk management in a reputed global bank. I developed interest in Economics not by choice but by chance. Started my career as a engineer. After two years of uninspiring work I just gave up my job and started thinking what to do next. Thought of film making as a career, going abroad for higher tech studies etc. but finally like most middle class people I also chose the tried and tested route of going for MBA. During MBA one book inspired me to gravitate towards finance and that's Mohammad Yunus' autobiography (Grameen Bank fame). and that's how I landed up in banking. Although I'm doing quiet different work from the Grameen bank types, I look up to Mohammad Yunus as inspirational light, who has redefined traditional banking, finance, credit and soccial development."
