Hi Here's my short Bio-data Vivek Narayan is known to me and has given much encouragement. S.S.Prasad told me about this Group which is very focused ,so i thought I would join a group which can give me suggestions.I am also working on my poems. Sivakami Sivakami Velliangiri, writer-poet has been writing since the age of 12. Even when at school, she won many prizes for her poetry. After finishing school she went on to get an MA in Eng Literature from The Kerala University. While at college she continued to publish poetry in journals like Youth Times, the Indian P.E.N., The Indian Scholar, Kavi, Parampara, The critic and prof Srinivasa Iyengar has included her in his book History of Indians Writing in English,among the women poets writing then.Dominic Raj and Anjum Hasan wote a review of her poems that appeared in Indian Book Review .and Indian Scholar around that period. Her name is included among the Indian Poets writing in the 1980's. During her time in college , she was the secretary of the English Association that co! nsisted of eleven colleges.(If you can remember the activities you organised/participated in put them here). While in college she hosted a poetry prog on Youth forum for the Air which included, parting form reading poetry interviewing literary figures like the poet Parthsaraty. Sivakami returned to poetry in _1998 after a gap of eighteen years. She has since then published poems and reviews in Deccan Herald, The Little Magazine She is an active member of the Madras English Association And The Britich Council Poetry Circle. Sivakami velliangiri is now engaged in bringing poetry to the young ones.
