RAIN
For days and days it never rained
And all below the scorching earth was dry.
Yet even then not many wished,
For any passing clouds to stop by.
And if a cloud did ever stop
Not many upon the earth rejoiced.
For that who lived on top of hill
Wanted to see the greenery washed.
He wished to enjoy the scenery,
When the rain will lash, the waves will fall.
But those who lived beneath the hill,
In countless numbers; an over-spill
Could only think of their leaking roofs,
Or worse still, of their muddy walls.
Then fearfully they would look ahead,
At the fiercely racing, crashing waves.
They didn't know at all which one,
Would be the one to make their end,
The falling roof,
Or the raging flood...

THE JOY OF GIVING
Clouds rain on me,
Drench me in your tears.
Fall softly and fill up, rain,
The foot steps that I bear.
Then in your sorrow,
I'll forget my grief.
And I'll stretch my arms,
To gather your cascading weep.
That sorrow could give such delight_ such life.
Now I'll shed my tears,
My harvest you shall reap.
