One of my older poems...

 

Gulmohar-Shaded Road

 

Gulmohar-shaded road. Flowers

birds flaming on boughs. Full of secret sayings

Lips whispering in warm ears.

 

Slung bag. Basket-hung fingers.

Soft collars. Limp shoe laces. Loose

knees. Drooping earthwards. Yet

eyes, like glimmering noon on lake.

Looking deep inside oneself.
