hello friends, read this poem i wrote yesterday night and the context.
shoma news from India---- a student of management left a suicide note stating that he was given zero marks in his exam and his marks were given to another boy who never appeared in the exam. The professor admitted his fault but no remedial action was taken. In acute frustration the young boy committed suicide. One fine day dance bars in mumbai were closed down and many dance bar girls who were earning money by working there are now forced into prostitution to eke a living. The moral government says the dance bars were corrupting the youth of the city. Tales at midnight Creatures of the night, like bats in flight Rummaging amongst trees or old walls Of forts and ruined palaces once bright Sadly live the creatures of the night . When the bonds shatter and eves Flee to the dance bars in cities Customers dance to their tunes Under the twinkling lights Money for food or a shelter Thus earns the creature of the night Mean streets beckon, neon lights glare A new life begins for those who dare. When a city sleeps, fingers type Messages of humanity bruised ripe A student fed up with his life For a few exam marks more Looks for a rope-route to die Imploring teachers for his due Which they blatantly refuse He embraces the dark light Hangs the creature of the night Shame and honour no more For him bliss at deaths door.
