Quaking Who will be next? You, me, us, them? Every now and then, Earth decides to spring clean. It shakes the dust off its surface, Along with all the dust mites The ant holes are exposed Creeping and crawling, Infested with life And then stamped over. The moles in holes are First choked, then smothered, Finally buried alive It shrugs its shoulders slightly, With disdain, And all construction comes crumbling down
This earth is on its deathbed. It is dying a slow, fading death. Every once in a while, It wheezes and rattles, Then lays back exhausted Sometimes you can hear it growling, rumbling Heaving, trembling, Panting, panting, Dying It all started with two big bangs, It might end with a miserable whine.
