This is an old, old poem of mine. Written sometime in 2003. Quite a puerile attempt but nevertheless sincere in its feelings...

An evening by the sea-side

Kissed by the sun setting in its crimson glory,
Spangled the billowing sea waves
And the sky above held a view
Kaleidoscopic- bright pink, azure and some grey;

love feelings were wafting in the air…
Slowly the bright star sank down that line
where the sky meets the earth everyday.
I sat observing these scenes in solitude,
when caressed the tender breeze as do you.
In those hours of twilight, with approaching night,
As the silhouette of palms grew dark,
Reached to a crescendo the song of the lark,
Life stilled amidst the sands of gold
And I thought of you, just you…

Vidyanjali.
