Good morning, <std_noob_disclaimer> I am new to the OpenSolaris game so forgive me if this is covered elsewhere. </std_noob_disclaimer>
While reading the documentation for zfs and comstar I note that there are two methods for creating iscsi targets with zfs volumes. The first (which appears to be unsupported) is to use the schareiscsi=on attribute on the volume. This method does not appear to use comstar but the older, userspace, iscsitgt service. In fact, if iscsitgt is offline it gets started when attempting to create a volume with the sharescsi=on attribute. Is the intent to move away from iscsitgt? Can I change some configuration somewhere to specify which iscsi target service to use?
