*Job Description*:
*MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE *
- Strong analytical skills;
- The proposed candidates are expected to possess at least 4 years of
experience as a QA/Test team member;
- Strong understanding of network and web architecture and the
implication of these on the performance test environments;
- Must be able to communicate with the infrastructure teams to address
application bottlenecks;
- Must be able to understand requirements and translate them into test
cases;
- Experience with manual testing of Web system is required;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required;
- Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical
resources;
- Must be able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance;
- Strong ability to communicate and interact with different teams (making
right judgment of team roles and responsibilities)
- Ability to work independently and be fully responsible for work results
- Based on the analysis of design document and requirements create test
strategy
- Create and execute test cases, log and assign defects and keep track of
the defect status
- Report the results to the management and team lead in timely matter
- Familiarity with XML files/editors
- Ability to create SQL queries and work with TOAD
- Experience with SOA
- Ability to gather statistics, create performance matrix, plan and
analyze system performance
- Perform end-to-end test process for complex enterprise solutions;
- Work closely with project managers and project team to provide testing
timelines and status;
- Design test plans for projects and work with project teams to obtain
approval;
- Work closely with project teams to understand solution requirements and
generate test scripts and perform test analysis;
- Execute all functional and performance tests according to test plans
and scripts, document results, and quickly identify and troubleshoot issues;
- Participate in the early phases of projects to ensure that inputs into
testing process can be translated into a test plan and test cases;
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Understanding of a variety of programming languages, architectures, and
standards (e.g., J2EE-Java, .net, n-tier architecture, service oriented
architecture) is a plus;
- Experience with automated testing is a plus;
- Experience with Mercury Interactive, Quick Test Pro/ WinRunner, Load
Runner and Test Director/Quality Center;
- Basic knowledge of Unix commands
- Fundamentals of MQ

References should be provided from at least two former or current clients
where the contractor has performed the same or similar work. Provide the
name, address, phone number and e-mail address of the reference as well as a
brief description of the work performed.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Business Express is intended to provide new and existing businesses with the
tools required to open and expand businesses in the New York City area.
Additionally, the project is intended to provide businesses with a web
location where they can log on to manage all of their business transactions
with the City. Major development is being divided into multiple phases of
successive increasing complexity, all beginning concurrently. **

The Quality Assurance Tester will perform the following tasks and
services:
- Develop test plans for all functional, performance, cross browser/
platform and security testing
- Create test cases and scripts
- Execute tests and log defects
- Work with programmers to resolve defects
- Document test results
The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for the following
deliverables:
- Test Plan
- Test Cases and scripts
- Test results
