Hi Francois, Somehow the index file is corrupted. In this case indeed removing the ".zim" folder or just the ".zim/index.db" file should work.
If it doesn't work, have a look in "~/.cache/zim" - likely you find the relevant "index.db" in there. After removing it, you should be able to start and re-index the notebook. If indexing gives problems, try to run it from a terminal with "zim --index notebook --debug" and report the error messages in the bug tracker at GitHub.
