Is it possible to configure gtk to have a quick search on the index pane?
Yes it is! - And it is quite simple, found out after years of using Zim. I'm not very proud but happy none the less. Here it is:
i) Click in the index pane to select it;
ii) Type * to expand all pages;
iii) Just start typing whatever you want to to find.
