A Globe and Mail article talked about students at U of Rotterdam "manning the dykes" in protest. I couldn't stop laughing, and wrote them a letter to the editor, saying, "aren't spell-chequers wonderful?" They either thought it was too minor or they really can't spell down there in the centre of the universe (Toronto) and simply didn't get it, because it was never published.
