Ben, The sysevent service should not run in the ngz. This is delivered in a hollow pkg with svr4 pkging. You might take a look at my p2v webrev for opensolaris. http://cr.opensolaris.org/~gjelinek/webrev.p2v/ In the p2v script there is a fix_smf() function which looks at the IPS pkgs to determine which SMF services should be deleted inside the zone.
