Have you actually looked at those tests? You will find examples that manually create a view with a fake request and a fake context (e.g. folder.txt), and examples that use the testbrowser (e.g. metadata.txt).
There are no explicit tests for the formatting and no errors when tests are run. @@edit.html works as it should if ReST is available.
