Ups, my fault....Zope 2.4 or higher requires Python 2.1.X. Using Python 2.2 with Zope 2.4 or 2.5 is officially not supported. This issue has been discussed multiple times on the list. Please check the archives. Python 2.2 has been tested with Zope 2.5 but there is not supported. So use it as your own risk and don't cry when you have problems.
