just some ideas: - install Plone and run 'ab' against the front-page which will give you number of requests/second- upload some content into Zope, create a catalog and measure the time required for indexing the content - TextIndexNG3 has a small (undocumented) command line interface where you can index a bunch of documents without using Zope. This will measure the indexing speed directly
