violence of Hollywood, poor beatnik morals, but not the military state that
creates the current violent climate.

The new movie, "The Matrix" features "cool" people in trenchcoats who do a
lot of shooting. In that movie the idea was that reality wasn't "real" but a
construct of our own making driven by and controlled by a machine
intelligence (AI). Could be this is an inspiration for what is going on
there.
