Not the same thing but on a related note, I did run through the troubleshooting process outlined by harddrake (ie, lspci -v, etc) and nothing untoward appeared. Perhaps you will see something more subtle when I can present it. As for bios version...I do not recall when I updated the bios last. I'll check that as well.
