not reliable - as one generates initramfs for other boxes with mkinitramfs

Bug#510334: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the libgcr410 package

2010-04-27 Thread Christian PERRIER
Dear maintainer of libgcr410 and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the libgcr410 Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four
days, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs de es fr it ja nl pt pt_BR ru sv vi

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the libgcr410 package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Monday, May 03,
2010. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Thursday, April 22, 2010 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 : send this notice
Monday, May 03, 2010 : (midnight) deadline for receiving translation
updates
Tuesday, May 04, 2010 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/7-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

I'm experience the same problems and I'm not yet sure what's causing
this behaviour.
There is already a related bug report in Geany's bug tracker:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=787791aid=2985896group_id=153444

And because it's possible related to GTK, I reported this also to GTK's
bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=615576

My current guess is that it's somehow related to Geany's file open
dialog and the directory which was opened in the dialog before closing
it. It might happen if files are created, moved, deleted in this
directory though I wasn't able yet to reproduce it.

Bug#579297: wpasupplicant: wpa_supplicant disconnects and fails to reconnect (wpa-enterprise)

2010-04-27 Thread kel
severity 579297 important
thanks

 Package: wpasupplicant
 Version: 0.6.10-2
 Severity: grave
 Justification: renders package unusable

For your porticular use case maybe, but that does not make a
grave severity rating for the package.

I have a strange problem for about half a year now, which is when I
 connect to
a WPA-Enterprise WiFi network (eduroam in this case) I loose my connection
after a certain amount of time, and wpa_supplicant fails to establish a
 stable
 connection again after that.

So when I loose the connection that is actually the time when the AP
 requests
a re-authentication (AFAICT) and wpa_supplicant fails to do this
 correctly.

 Here some details:
 AP:
 IE: IEEE 802.11i/WPA2 Version 1
 Group Cipher : TKIP
Pairwise Ciphers (2) : TKIP CCMP
 Authentication Suites (1) : 802.1x
 IE: WPA Version 1
 Group Cipher : TKIP
Pairwise Ciphers (2) : TKIP CCMP
 Authentication Suites (1) : 802.1x

Wifi card is an Intel Ultimate N 5300

 wpa_supplicant config:
 ctrl_interface_group=103
 update_config=1

 network={
 ssid=eduroam
 key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
 eap=PEAP
 identity=u...@domain.tld
 password=password
  }

I collected some debug output (using -dd) which contains logs from when
I first connected to this network, after loosing the connection the first
 time
 and several re-connection attempts thereafter.

The best place to seek support about this is the hostap mailing
list:

http://lists.shmoo.com/mailman/listinfo/hostap

Thanks, Kel.

Hermann,

is your problem still unsolved?

I was just looking for the appropriate RFC's but the answer i found
is not quite satisfying.

RFC2408 ISAKMP - Page 41

NOTE: The Delete Payload is not a request for the responder to
delete an SA, but an advisory from the initiator to the responder.

Not 100% sure, but confirmed by one racoon developer, racoon ignores
right now the delete messages.

Maybe there is another way to work around your problem for example
having a very short lifetime in phase2 (sainfo part of racoon.conf).

Bug#578950: [Linphone-developers] bug+patch: Identifies with IP6 to IP4 hosts with dual AAAA/A DNS resource record

2010-04-27 Thread Simon Morlat
Hi Lionel,

Thanks a lot for reporting with problem with much details.
The patch does not apply to git tree, but no problem I made the change
manually as it was trivial. So the bug should be fixed in next release.

Best regards

and lio...@mamane.lu as CC in the discussion (M-F-T is set).

 When

  - the SIP server has both A and records in DNS
  - linphone is configured to use IPv4, not IPv6

linphone speaks over IPv4 to the server, but puts an IPv6 address in
the SIP messages. This, at least in the case where Asterisk is the
server (and probably for other servers that don't implement IPv6)
makes calls not work. (registration works)

The attached patch (against v3.2.1) fixes the issue.

 Analysis:

 Abstract from the debug log:

  linphonec call 500

First sign of trouble: linphone identifies its own IP as an IPv6...

  ortp-message-getaddrinfo returned the following addresses:
  ortp-message-94.142.241.136 port 5060
  ortp-message-Message sent: (to dest=94.142.241.136:5060)

but OK, it still speaks to the server over IPv4

  s=A conversation
  c=IN IP6 2001:960:2:97::2

the IP6 address there makes Asterisk balk. The Asterisk log says:

  WARNING[3678] chan_sip.c: Invalid host in c= line, 'IN IP6 2001:960:2:97::2'

and it returns this message to Linphone:

 ortp-message-Received message: SIP/2.0 488 Not acceptable here

+1, let's try to get it into squeeze. It will mean more users and

Bug#579346: jabref: should depend or at least recommend xdg-utils

Package: jabref

  Hello !

jabref should depend or at least recommend xdg-utils, since it now
seems to use xdg-open for external file associations (unless you
manually override this in the external files type dialog). This is
rather painful for URL browsing since it used to use a user-specified

Bug#578396: qemu-kvm: After Squeeze reinstall, Studio 9.4.3 (Windows program) no longer works properly

2010-04-27 Thread Michael Tokarev

27.04.2010 07:54, Gary Dale wrote:

Further to below, I figured I'd try a re-install using virt-manager -
something I couldn''t get working earlier. I noticed when I installed
virt-manager, it installed a whole raft of software related to the qemu
(not qemu-kvm) package.

It also seems to be recognizing qemu-kvm, but I can't get Windows XP to
install.

I'm not sure I understand what you wrote. In any way, it is
something not related to the original bugreport, so if it is
important for you file a new bug report.

Basically, I can connect to qemu (it won't connect to, or even
recognize, qemu-kvm - the problem I was having earlier), create a new
virtual machine (I have to pre-create the virtual disk file or it will
try to create it on my system partition instead of in my home
directory), tell it that it's a Windows XP partition then begin the
install. Unfortunately, after copying files to the virtual disk, the XP
install tries to reboot but can't find a bootable disk.

Here, perform the install of windowsXP without using virt-manager,
directly with kvm running from command line. Later on you can
import the guest disk image into virt-manager and it will work
fine. It's a known issue and I don't yet know who's at blame --
virt-manager or kvm.

I don't know if you can help out on that issue. But the various extra
bits that virt-manager installed made me wonder if there is something in
the qemu install (that is not in the qemu-kvm install) that could cause
the issue I am having?

As far as I know virt-manager is able to work with qemu, qemu-kvm,
xen and a few other virt. technologies. Why it decided to install
lots of qemu dependencies is beyong me, ask virt-manager folks about
that. Again, it is not at all related to the problem at hand.

Just a thought. Any ideas?

Well, yes. We're getting too far from the initial problem. And
the problem itself, as I already pointed out several times, isn't
exactly clear either, it might be anything.

For your porticular use case maybe, but that does not make a
grave severity rating for the package.

I don't agree as many people use eduroam or a similar network and this problem
has been reported oftenly, also on ubuntu.
Hence it's not a special rare use-case.

On ubuntu it has been suggested that a temporary solution would be to compile

Bug#579349: qemu: fresh WinXP image does not start

2010-04-27 Thread Alexandre Fayolle
Package: qemu
Version: 0.12.3+dfsg-4
Severity: normal

Hi,

I've created a 30GB disk image with qemu-img using qcow2 format, and I was able
to
install windows XP on that image using an ISO image (via libvirt). However when
booting again
the image I get a Disk read error from seabios, either by launching with
virsh or manually with qemu.

I'm able to boot on a Windows installation CDROM, and to access the repair
console, run chkdsk, so the disk image is there and alive. Mayby this is a
seabios issue, I'm not sure.

Additional information:

* seabios version: 0.5.1-2

* command used to launch the image:

qemu -net user -net nic -smb /tmp -m 512 -hda /opt/kvm/xp_sp3_py26.img
-usbdevice tablet -k fr -cdrom
/opt/MSDN/fr_windows_xp_professional_n_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_x14-92440.iso
-boot menu=on

Any help welcome.

Bug#579350: nusoap: New 0.9.5 version available upstream

2010-04-27 Thread Olivier Berger
Package: nusoap

Hi.

There's a new version of nusoap that has just been released upstream (0.9.5).

Even though I have updated my packaging
(http://git.debian.org/?p=users/olberger-guest/nusoap.git;a=summary) for this
new version I'm not sure if it should be tested enough to integrate unstable at
the moment (well, after 0.7.3-3 has transitioned to testing, I mean ;).

Any comments ?

It is actually a known issue. I'm not sure if it's virt-manager or qemu
(or qemu-kvm which is also affected).

Try installing windows without virt-manager, using qemu directly from
command line. After install finishes, you will be able to import the
guest image into libvirt/virt-manager and it will run there just fine.

Bug#577661: dspam: should this package be removed?

2010-04-27 Thread Jan Hauke Rahm
Hi Kurt,

On Mon, Apr 26, 2010 at 06:33:31PM -0400, Kurt B. Kaiser wrote:
While the packages do not appear to have received adequate attention in
the last year and a half, Julien Valroff has in fact been working

Interesting. My bug filing was bad timing then... :)

I would like to request a stay of execution, and suggest the
 following plan:

First, determine which of the uploaders still have an interest in dspam.
I think there are currently at least three people who would like to
contribute to maintaining official Debian dspam packages.

Are you going to pursue this, i.e. check on the other maintainers?

Second, continue with the development of the experimental upload. I
think Julien is pretty close. Since his work differs considerably from
the current package, I think experimental is still warranted.

Third, prepare an upload to unstable which takes the current package to
3.6.8-10, fixing the RC issues and bringing it back into policy
compliance. I will work on that, if Julien has no objection.

Sounds good. Any chance of a time line? Do you think this is something
to be done within the next four weeks (and thus to be considered for
squeeze)?

DSPAM has been a Debian package for many years, and IMO it would be
unfortunate to remove it just when upstream finally got straightened
out and produced a new stable release.

Well, I filed the bug because it seemed noone cared. If you do, all the
better!

Bug#579348: postgresql-client-common: postgresql include directive not parsed in /usr/share/postgresql-common/PgCommon.pm

2010-04-27 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Marc,

Marc Cousin [2010-04-27 12:07 +0200]:
If using an include directive in postgresql.conf, pg_ctlcluster
fails with 'Invalid line' error, in read_conf_file. This function
should recurse into the include directives, as PostgreSQL does.

read_conf_file() actually does support the include directive, and
there's even a check in the test suite for that. Can you please attach
your postgresql.conf (or at least give me the precise include
statement) as well as the ls -l output of the included files?
(Perhaps there's something wrong with relative path resolution)

Thanks,

Hi, I don't get it then, I don't see anything in the function for this case.

So here's how I reproduce it :

/etc/postgresql/8.3/main# cat postgresql.conf

Several 'normal' lines
...

--
# CUSTOMIZED OPTIONS
#--

#custom_variable_classes = '' # list of custom variable class names

include 'test_include.conf'

/etc/postgresql/8.3/main# cat test_include.conf
lc_monetary = 'C'

I get this :

debian:/etc/postgresql/8.3/main# pg_ctlcluster 8.3 main start
Error: Invalid line 495 in /etc/postgresql/8.3/main/postgresql.conf: »include
'test_include.conf'
«

The postgresql-client-common is 94lenny1 by the way.

will 1:5.4p1-1 be part of debian squeeze? if not then, imho, this
should be addressed.

Bug#579352: renpy: Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault

2010-04-27 Thread Ying-Chun Liu (PaulLiu)
Package: renpy
Version: 6.9.3.dfsg1-1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

When I run renpy, it crash. renpy-demo also crash the same way.

paul...@freya:/tmp$ renpy
Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault
Aborted

So I recompile renpy with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=noopt nostrip and run gdb.
The gdb backtrace is as attachment.
It shows the crash is at module/core.c (line 1257)
// Load in the 4 bytes.
movd_m2r(*(unsigned int *) sp, mm1); // crash here, sp out of bound
 movd_m2r(*(unsigned int *) (sp + 4), mm2);
 punpcklbw_r2r(mm7, mm1);
 punpcklbw_r2r(mm7, mm2);

I tried to disable MMX in core.c by not #define GCC_MMX at beginning.
Then renpy won't crash. However this is not good.

Thus I do more investigation.
I tried to add a printf(%d,%d,%d\n,px,py,srcpitch);
before unsigned char *sp = srcpixels + py * srcpitch + px * 4; (core.c: 1241)
And that printf() makes renpy won't crash.
WTF.
After removing that printf(), I get crashes again.
I add printf before movd_m2r() it also works (no crash).
But remove that printf will cause the crash.
It really confuses me. How to deal with this kind of bugs?

I'm using AMD64 CPU (AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 240 Processor)
But running i386 system.

Please help me on solving this issue.

Many Thanks,
Paul

Bug#579353: tmux: version 1.2-2 breaks software using waitpid()

2010-04-27 Thread Gian Piero Carrubba
Package: tmux
Version: 1.2-2
Severity: critical
Tags: sid
Justification: breaks unrelated software

Strange as it appears, it seems that version 1.2-2 interfers with
software calling waitpid().

Just as an example, running reportbug inside tmux (inside urxvt) leads
to:

gpi...@caimano:~$ reportbug tmux

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File /usr/lib/python2.5/webbrowser.py, line 453, in register_X_browsers
retncode = out.close()
IOError: [Errno 10] No child processes

The same command works outside tmux (I'm running it to write this bug
report inside urxvt). Reverting back to version 1.2-1 makes this bug
disappear.

This bug affect a lot of unrelated software, but obviously only if run
inside tmux.

Thanks,
Gian Piero.

Bug#579355: dhcp3-client: ignores hook script exit_status

2010-04-27 Thread Ferenc Wagner
Package: dhcp3-client
Version: 3.1.3-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

man dhclient-script says the following about its hooks:

If an error occurs during the execution of the script, it can set the
exit_status variable to a nonzero value, and /sbin/dhclient-script will
exit with that error code immediately after the client script exits.

but setting the variable doesn't seem to be enough, I had to explicitly
call exit in my hook script to get dhclient-script abort. At least one
out of the documentation, my understanding and the implementation must
be wrong. But which one?

Thanks,
Feri.

Bug#579353: tmux: version 1.2-2 breaks software using waitpid()

2010-04-27 Thread Romain Francoise
Gian Piero Carrubba gpi...@rm-rf.it writes:

Strange as it appears, it seems that version 1.2-2 interfers with
 software calling waitpid().

Ugh, sorry about that. It's caused by a patch I picked from CVS, and
it doesn't happen for me because my shell is zsh. I guess you're
using bash and it doesn't reset the signal handler for SIGCHLD it
gets from tmux when it's started...

I'll amend the patch tonight. Thanks for the report!

Bug#545031: lxpanel 0.5.5 has a fix for that

2010-04-27 Thread Adrien
Hi,

I had the same bug and stumbled upon this bugreport. Since I've solved
half of it, I'm sharing the solution.

The problem is an lxpanel crash when the window manager dies/restarts.
It has been fixed upstream. The corresponding commit can be found in
the git repo of lxpanel [1].

I said I had solved half of the problem because openbox still (as of
today) doesn't support 24bit color depths. A work-around is to use
another vga adapter in qemu (it seems only qemu is using 24bit
depths).
If you don't, penbox will still exit but at least the panel will stop
flickering and the windows won't drift anymore.

PS: I'm sending a mail to answer this bug report, I don't know if I'll
get notifications of replies.

Bug#579282: warzone2100: new stable upstream version available (2.3.0)

2010-04-27 Thread Per W.
Hi Alexander,

since no changes are required to build 2.3 (you only changed the changelog),
the maintainer probably does not need any help.
He only needs to find some time to check the new package.
If he does not upload in the next two weeks you can do a NMU (See [1])
after that time.

It would have been better to base your work on the latest upload (which
was to experimental).
See the news section on [2] to find the latest upload.
You missed the change of the maintainers e-mail, the changed recommends
and the fixed watch-file.

On the *.build-file we can see, that the package is not lintian-clean.
Please run lintian -i -I -E --pedantic *.dsc *.deb and fix all problems.

If you want to help the maintainer, it would be nice to send a diff
between the old and the new debian-dir.
I attached a fixed patch...

The nice protocol.txt should go to your blog!
It will be lost in this bug-report...

I don't agree as many people use eduroam or a similar network and this

 Hence it's not a special rare use-case.

Hi,

Not sure if the same problem, but I am also experiencing problems with
wireless connection to eduroam. Box is a Toshiba laptop with an intel
iwl4965, using iwl4965 module in stable (kernel 2.6.26) and iwlagn in
squeeze (kernel 2.6.32). I thought problem was related to the kernel module,
but looking at this bug report that may not be the case. I do not have
access to that box now and will not have until next week, so I am just
adding what I remember from my yesterday's experience with the problem.

With squeeze and stable 2.6.26 kernel wireless to eduroam works although
with some idle periods and some time to establish connection (and without
udev, but that is because old kernels having SYSFS enabled do not work
with squeeze udev, something known and hopefully unrelated).

Real problems appear when using 2.6.32, then I cannot even establish
connection, lots of timeouts. I also see lots of 'Michael MIC failure' lines
in wpa* logs. Not sure if this happened before, because wpa* log lines are
not prefixed by time.

I needed to do some real work with that box, so I connected a wire and
enabled eth0 and put this into my TODO list. If I can, I will try to work
a bit more on this next week, trying to tune timeouts or trying old
wpa_supplicant, in case problem is here instead of in the module itself.

Unfortunately there is no other wireless network available there to try.

Cheers,

PS: I subscribed to this bug report, no need of CC'ing me.

Bug#578726: defaultroute metric, don't replace defaultroutes with different metrics

2010-04-27 Thread debian
hi!

i beleive this patch is a quite valuable enhancement.

apart from the obvious benefits (aka necessity) of being able to use routing
metrics, i also found no reasonable way to make sure pppd will add its
defaultroute without messing the rest of the routing up.

example:

ppp0persistent ppp connection, meant as a fallback i.e. with low priority.
eth0sometimes connected, probably with a defaultroute. this is to be
preferred if available.

now if eth0 is already up and has a defaultroute when pppd (configured with
defaultroute) is coming up, no default route will be generated by pppd. if eth0
goes down, the fallback won't work. if pppd is configured with
replacedefaultroute, it will replace eth0's default route, which is not
intended and even breaks routing when ppp0 goes down.
handling routing via ip-up will fail in case of a pppd reconnect (e.g. on every
suspend/resume cycle), in which case the ip-up simply isn't called when ip
comes up, and therefore the routes (which vanished from the routing table when
the interface vanished) will not reappear.

the above patch also seems to be a solution for this.

and while we're at it: as there's no reasonable hook for routing changes (i.e.
also working on a pppd reconnect), having an option to configure static routes
which are inserted together with the default route could be vital to use pppd
for reasonable networking in some cases.

regards,

Chris

But: The thing is, gelemental has no active upstream. Even the site

Is this a genuine bug, or was it intentional?

curl-config --libs returns -lcurl -Wl,-z,defs instead of just -lcurl. That
linker flag breaks a build of a shared library of mine which naturally has
undefined symbols as it is dynamically loaded by another programme and uses
 symbols of that programme.

This is breaking at least collectd (see #578819) and claws-mail-extra-plugins.
Raising the severity to prevent accidental testing transition until the
maintainer comments.

Bug#579328: Unexpected behavior with ept-cache --sort list no list of sortable fields provided...

However when you try to have it print the list it errors out:

 # ept-cache search --sort list
invalid sort type (use 'list' for a list). Context:
 parsing sort type

Note that the man page says --sort=method, not --sort method. If you
interpret that literally, it works:

ept-cache search --sort=list

So the bug here seems to be that --foo bar apparently isn't treated the same as
--foo=bar, while it often is by option parsing code (and so users will tend to
expect it to be). And the error message would probably be clearer if it said
something like:

invalid sort type '' (use 'list' for a list)

I never said it was a rare case. This simply does not meet the criteria of of
a grave bug:

makes the package in question unusable or mostly so, or causes data loss, or
introduces a security hole allowing access to the accounts of users who use
the package http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities

So this bug makes connecting to a certain type of network, not even fail
immediately, but after some amount of time. This software currently fulfills
all of my use cases without annoyance. AFAIK, wpasupplicant currently does not
delete random data or open gaping holes in the system which may be exploited.

You may only use this software to connect to one network, which may make it
feel mostly unusable but you must consider all other use cases before
selecting the highest severity.

On ubuntu it has been suggested that a temporary solution would be to compile
 wpasupplicant with gnutls.

The best place to seek support about this is the hostap mailing

I use LVM from the debian-installer since quite some time now, and I find
it really useful. I definitely love the “guided lvm” and “guided encrypted
LVM”, but sometime, after using the box a bit, I find out that the layout
wasn't exactly like I needed and I'm short on space on one partition.

Fine, LVM is good at that, I can reallocate some space.

But, shrinking some VG to reallocate space is not that easy. One
needs to shrink one filesystem, then the LV, then grow the needed LV,
and then the filesystem. It's not that easy, and I'm not sure this is
really the way LVM was intended to be used.

It might been easier to not allocate all the space on the hard drive chosen
for guided LVM. Only allocate, say 10 or 20G (only if the hard drive is big
enough, that said), do a guided layout on that, and keep free extents in
the volume group.

Then, when one partition starts to fill up, the admin only needs to grow it
a little, with the free PE in the VG.

What do you think?

Cheers,

Bug#578126: fails to load kernel in memory due to /boot already being un-mounted

It now appears that kexec works reliably provided the console
is working, but I haven't fully figured out what
dependency-based booting was doing with the shutdown/reboot process.

I have seen the problem of console not showing any messages during a
kexec reboot on a few other machines. It is an upstream problem and has
something to do with video card not being reset upon kexec reboot.

Could you please ensure that this version of kexec-tools gets built for
i386?

Yes, of course. Build machines take some time to build packages after an
upload. i386 version was built this morning and should show up in repo
shortly.

Thanks, the i386 build turned up at my local mirror a few hours ago.

When I tried doing a restart with the official Debian i386 build of
kexec, the machine did a hardware restart.

I then added a line just after the call to do_stop in
/etc/init.d/kexec-load:

ls /boot/vmlinuz*

Then retried selecting restart from the kdm login menu.

Sometimes kexec worked fine and I booted without going to the BIOS
start-up and GRUB menu, on other occasions the ls command revealed that
the newer /boot/vmlinuz* files were absent and only some files normally
hidden underneath the /boot mount-point were visible.

So it appears that /boot was sometimes not mounted, even though the
message about unmount local file systems appeared much later in the
shutdown process.

Can you suggest any further debugging ideas?

Arthur.

So, basically, you admit that the bug is there, you admit that you are

No, I'm telling you your configuration is broken, and this bug is

Is this a serious question? I will assume it is and give a straight answer.

The answer is: I am hoping to run the application.

FYI, all Glib applications spit information -- warnings, errors, other
information out into the terminal regardless of any debug flag. I do not see
 this as a problem.

If you don't see it as a problem, it's probably because you are only
ever clicking on icons to open applications, STDOUT is redirected to
.xsession-errors or a bitbucket or $somewhere_else, and you assume that
everybody does that. However for some users it clearly is a problem.

If it wants to write to STDERR to report something exceptional then
that's different, but as I said originally, routinely clobbering STDOUT
with junk is unacceptable.

Banshee does the same, just on a slightly larger scale. And the --debug flag
exists to spit out even more information than is already spat out to the
 terminal.

Great. But I'm looking for less, not more.

Antony

Bug#578915: git-svn: git svn log differs slightly from svn log in date formatting

yep, one has to apply a filter, also to remove the addional empty lines (and
non matching spaces at end of lines).

First of all the dot after the day of month is missing in the German locale.

Ah, git svn ignores any locale, this explains the problem.

The dot stands for an ordinal number (e.g. 19. == 19th).
Second: line(s) is not translated. I can workaround by starting git/svn
  in an
  English locale ...

I tried to fix both.

Third: the git log often contains an addional empty line.

This remains open. Probably that can be solved by setting a git config
option and resyncing all git svn history from git.

Care to write a patch? This sounds like a useful change, but realistically
speaking, I do not see anyone working on it soon. I’d be glad to help in
any way I can (pointing to relevant functions and so on).

Here is a patch with a few comments, also attached unchanged:

Please put
 sprintf($d-nget( | %d line, | %d lines, n), n)
into a function (which integer parameter n) to avoid code duplication. The
first n selects the string to be used (the singular or plural form), the
second replaces %d by the number.

Since Subversion has the string | %d line translated, we have to match
it (and cannot request the translation for line).

Bug#578691: libmediawiki-perl: Security update of mediawiki will break login API

2010-04-27 Thread Ansgar Burchardt
Hi,

the planned security update for mediawiki/1.12.0-2lenny5 will break
libmediawiki-perl: the Perl module will no longer be able to log in [1].
I prepared a patch for this problem (attached).

I tested the modified version and it is able to log in to both the new
and old version of mediawiki: it only uses the login token if required.
See the bug report for a simple script to test this.

Please tell us when we should go ahead and upload the package or when
you need more information.

Regards,
Ansgar

No, I'm telling you your configuration is broken, and this bug is
invalid. Why do you keep arguing about that? What's so hard about
 fixing your config?

Well, of course I understand that you are telling me exactly this. I
simply fail to see how your advice of not using a buggy subsystem
actually solves a bug in this subsystem, as simple as that.

Bug#565539: Reopening #565539 as sash still FTBFS on the kfreebsd buildds

2010-04-27 Thread Axel Beckert
reopen 565539
found 565539 3.7-10
tag 565539 - patch
severity 565539 serious
kthxbye

Hi,

I haven't investigated it further, but according to
https://buildd.debian.org/pkg.cgi?pkg=sash sash still FTBFS on
kfreebsd even though it compiled fine with that patch in January on my
kfreebsd box. (I still have the patched 3.7-9 version installed there.
:-)

I raised the severity to serious as this is definitely RC as kfreebsd
is now a release arch. (And it worked before so it's some kind of
regression.)

I'll have a look at it and possibly come up with a patch later.

Regards, Axel

Description: simple puzzle game involving untangling planar graphs
gPlanarity is a puzzle game with the goal to untangle planar graphs for
fun and prizes. If you tend to get addicted to cute little math puzzles,
 this one is a doozy.
 .
gPlanarity is a super-clone of the flash Planarity game written by John
Tantalo. The original Planarity ran well in IE and Firefox on other
platforms, but was slow and liked to lock up or abort under Linux
 browsers.
 .
gPlanarity implements gameplay identical to the original Planarity but
adds some UI and game extras around the basic game such as multiple
board generation algorithms, puzzle boards, complete backing state,
 group select/drag and so on.

Bug#557451: terminal: background transparency is broken

2010-04-27 Thread Leevi Seinälä
Terminal transparency is broken in Gnome too, you can only see the desktop
wallpaper, not the windows behind the terminal.

Tested it with 2 machines + QEMU, same thing everywhere.

Not sure what you mean here.

Anyway, is there a reason that #560238 isn't blocked by #560044 given it
breaks that package or are you not bothered about breaking non-free
software?

Simon.

  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : A platform-independent, multi-threading, object-oriented
and synchronization library for C++

Zthreads is an advanced platform-independant, object-oriented
threading and synchronization library. Designed and tested under POSIX
Win32 systems. Not just another thread wrapper.
..
It provides several structures for concurrent programming like
PoolExecutor, MonitoredQueue, Barriers and much more. Futhermore,
structures like Task and Thread are provided for creating threading
applications in C++ easier.
..
This library is used in Bruce Eckel's book Thinking in
C++ as a good framework for concurrent programming.

Bug#579374: kipi-plugins1.2.0-1 conflicts with gthumb-data =3:2.11.3-1

2010-04-27 Thread Yves Lambert
Package: kipi-plugins
Version: 1.1.0-1
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

Hi,
both kipi-plugins and gthumb-data both provide
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/actions/facebook.png and
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/actions/flickr.png files.
NB gthumb-data 3:2.11.3-1 is experimental version.

I am currently trying to install 1.2.0-1 version (experimental)
to check if the conflict remains but it seems that I've got to
upgrade almost all kde-related packages to experimental versions
and aptitude don't help the process.

I'll post a followup if 1.2.0-1 version conflicts also with
gthumb-data 3:2.11.3-1

Bug#578023: openoffice.org on GNU/kFreeBSD

2010-04-27 Thread Petr Salinger

Our /proc also have the same symlink, so we could just use
similar implementation. I will take care about this part.

Did you test that? Even with libc0.1 2.10.2-7 it fails the same way for
me...

Now I am really confused :-(

The problem seems be due to combination of chroot and bind/nullfs mount.

(sid)Nemám #ádné jmé...@io:~/r$ /bin/ls -sl /proc/self/exe
0 lr--r--r-- 1 1013 1000 0 27. dub 11.43 /proc/self/exe - /bin/ls

(sid)Nemám #ádné jmé...@io:~/r$ cp /bin/ls .
(sid)Nemám #ádné jmé...@io:~/r$ ./ls -sl /proc/self/exe
0 lr--r--r-- 1 1013 1000 0 27. dub 11.43 /proc/self/exe - unknown

(sid)Nemám #ádné jmé...@io:~/r$ cp /bin/ls /var/tmp/
(sid)Nemám #ádné jmé...@io:~/r$ /var/tmp/ls -sl /proc/self/exe
0 lr--r--r-- 1 1013 1000 0 27. dub 11.43 /proc/self/exe - /var/tmp/ls

So under usual setup $ORIGIN should work fine even for libc0.1 2.10.2-7.
I do not know how the buildd are configured and whether it works on them using
2.10.2-7.

I tried harder to get $ORIGIN working also under combination of chroot and
bind/nullfs mount, scheduled for libc0.1 2.10.2-8.

I hope it would be sufficient.

Petr
