Andy,

It would be most helpful to know how much QRM gets through if you use a
500 Hz-wide IF filter and use a center frequency 250 Hz from the top of
a Pactor-III channel. Perhaps the problem is trying to use too wide an
IF filter.

Hi Mike,
You have to set the prefered Input/Ouput Audio Device on the Station Setup
Menu, then you can configure the audio level
by Control Panel Audio and so on (I have Italian Windows and i don't know
how says the English... hi hi).
In my PC i set the minimum output level for output (wave or master volume) and
about the 30% for input.
Then if you need QRO or QRP adjust the mic gain in the RIG and to adjust the
Input level you can use the Digital Audio Gain on the top-left of software
main panel.

Good point. The early Winmor beta testing advice was to was to keep all
DSP off but yesterday I used it to rid myself of some CW QRM and had no
issues. I am finding Winmor does quite well with QRM unless the QRM is of
a long duration. So, for example, ALE soundings don't always cause major
damage. Where they do cause damage is where there is a marginal Winmor
transfer taking place and the path is so poor that you are on the brink of
timing out, however you are managing a few good acks to keep the QSO
alive. Then along comes an ALE sounding that disrupts the marginal path and
lasts long enough to time you out. I have had that happen a few times JUST
as a file was about to complete. I will narrow things a tad and see what
happens.

I do not know about the SignaLink really, but if you have it connected
correctly to the rear accessory port, there is nothing you need to do
with the radio. When the PTT line is grounded, it enters TX mode.

Thus, I would look into either your software setup (look for a PTT com
port and/or DTR/RTS high/low type setup) or possibly the SignaLink cable
setup (if it's anything like the RigBlaster that has jumpers you have to
setup correctly.

Also, you may want to check out the TS-2000 group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KenwoodTS-2000/ ... I belong there and
they may be able to help as well... but I really think it's software or
the SignaLink setup.
