Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes
Hi, I upgraded eclipse-cdt to testing first, tested the delete/re-import and it works. I made a static library, a unit test project, a googletest makefile framework projet, I played with the includes and the settings, did many delete/re-import and everything works. Then, I upgraded from testing to sid, I did exactly the same tests (I made new projects to be sure, I did not just import) and everything works too. Thank you. ung __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers. Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes
Hi, Ill upgrade eclipse-cdt to testing for now. It is not urgent since like you said eclipse-cdt require few dependencies, but are you planning to release a backport for this package? I don't like to mix stable and testing/sid even if it's ok in this special case and that mean the stable cdt package is unusable for almost the whole debian stable release. I can't believe no one have reported this bug yet, I mean, anyone who is doing serious work will need to re-import a project. Thank you for your recommendation. ung __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers. Hi, are you planning to release a backport for this package? I can think about it, but first please check whether the latest version really works for you. If so, I might look into it sometime next week. Regards, Jakub __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers. Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes
Package: eclipse-cdt Version: 8.1.0+dfsg-2 Severity: important Hi, I am using wheezy so it's 8.1.0+dfsg-2. It is possible to fix it even if I use stable? I can't work with that, I must install another eclipse from sources. It must works because if I make a new unit test project, I must include GoogleTest and it won't see it unless I delete the project and re-import it (closing eclipse and reopening it doesn't work). It keeps GoogleTest and static librairy includes but doesn't re-import gcc includes so it doesn't work. Hi, Is it possible to fix it even if I use stable? this might be a problem as I don't know the specific patch fixing the issue. I would recommend to upgrade to CDT from testing or unstable. Re: New version of libedit in experimental: tests welcome
Hello, The release in experimental of libedit received some good feedbacks (btw, thanks to Guillem Jover). I am planning to upload it soon in the archive. So, if you haven't tested libedit yet, please go ahead! Thanks! Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap
On 01/07/13 21:23, Felix Natter wrote: Omega Weapon omegap...@gmail.com writes: This looks like you're still using OpenJDK6! You should definitely try openjdk-7: http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=openjdk-7-jresearchon=namessuite=allsection=all Now this was a WTF moment. I've already said that I'm using OpenJDK7 earlier. So, I investigated how the bug script runs, and how freeplane works out the Java command - the java-wrappers package is responsible for JAVA_CMD, and this returns the v6 runtime currently. Luckily for me I pay attention to what updates day to day (I read the changelogs every time) - that package recently upgraded to 0.1.26 - I installed the 0.1.25 version, and suddenly JAVA_CMD returns the correct v7 runtime! Bugs everywhere! Running freemind again with the software rendering with the correct v7 runtime is fine - so this is just an old irrelevant bug in OpenJDK6. I will report the bug I have discovered against java-wrappers now, and uninstall the v6 runtime since its probably no longer needed. Thanks for your help - I would not have suspected something messing around with my runtime version (this was configured at v7 by Debian alternates months ago). -- Libre software on Github: https://github.com/OmegaPhil FSF member #9442 __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers. Omega Weapon omegap...@gmail.com writes: Very sorry about the delay - I didn't get your email. Can we generally apply this patch or could it break something else in some cases? So far the change has simply lead to slow graphics rendering in freeplane (interestingly when you get to the second/third line of a node it suddenly speeds up mind), but without corruption. There is a separate failure where freeplane suddenly ignores all keyboard input, but I later confirmed this also happened under the normal graphics You could try to update to 1.2.23, but I don't know whether that would fix it (probably not). engine, so shouldn't be related (I can report this bug, but there is nothing useful I can say about it - I have to restart freeplane at this point). There was an interesting reply: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50850#c13 which states that the XRender pipeline (-Dsun.java2d.xrender=True) also causes problems (this time when scrolling _vertically_ ;-) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-7/+bug/1101348 The vertical scrolling bug is reported to be fixed in openjdk-8: http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/xrender-dev/2013-January/50.html = I guess that means we don't get a fix for openjdk-7, but I will ask on Debian-java (since it's patched on Ubuntu already). So, to repeat this: the solution is to pass -Dsun.java2d.xrender=True to java, which can be done by modifying 'JAVA_OPTS' in /usr/bin/freeplane for the 1.2.23 Debian package (or modify 'defines' for the 1.1.x package). But that might create problems as well, so you should only use it if you have visual corruption and I shouldn't include it in /usr/bin/freeplane of the Debian package at least until the xrender pipeline is fixed in OpenJDK7 of Debian. What is your experience with OpenJDK? Does it work properly (with this patch)? Now that OpenJDK7 has (almost) the same codebase as OracleJDK7 (that's what the OpenJDK folks told me), I think we should try to support it. Anyway, I'd say that the problem is that you have installed: * openjdk-6-jre * openjdk-7-jre-headless, but not openjdk-7-jre (can you confirm? If you install openjdk-7-jre, does the bug get solved?) Geogebra ensures (via its dependencies) that there is at least one complete (i.e., non headless) JRE installed, but then uses the most recent one, even if that one is headless. Then GeoGebra dies, because it requires a working GUI. I don't know whether there is a general solution to this problem (i.e., detecting which installed JREs are non headless and using one of them). Maybe the Java team has something to comment? (I had a look at java-wrappers, but there seems to be no provision for this kind of problems) Thanks. Re: Bug#701991: maven3: CVE-2013-0253
Control: reassign -1 src:wagon2 Control: tags -1 + patch Hello, This security issue is actually affecting libwagon2-java as, besides of build improvements, maven 3.0.5 only bumps wagon2 version from 2.2 to 2.4 (should maven be rebuilt when a fixed version has been uploaded?). Therefore, I'm reassigning this issue to wagon2 instead. According to [0], it is recommended to upgrade to Maven Wagon 2.4 however this is not really possible as the new version requires (at least, when testing by changing the required version, I got more dependency errors later on) libmaven-parent-java = 23 which is not available in the archive. Moreover, there are many unrelated changes so the only solution is probably to backport the patches. The issue on Maven Wagon BTS seems to be: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/WAGON-385 And the patches (quite small indeed): https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=2f7bb33852cbb9ddb4e1abaa37f282b67bf72af5 https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=b5a0839e312345499c811b6eff8f9029118ca8d5 As I don't know anything about Maven (I'm just hunting RC bugs ;-)), could you please confirm that these patches fix this issue? I can later NMU if it helps. Also, there seems to have been several other bug fixes (including security-related ones), not sure if they are really critical, just pointing out what I have found so far while checking git history from Maven Wagon 2.2 to 2.4: https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=f1298163ebb9f72c618c69140f6b47c7ad6c32e5 https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=31a5772aeffa38ed50355ad488f741cf48c4960a https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=d95189d00ab1e7ac79bd5b9f7d20525c2776a6a2 https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=6b664d691c9a0fec8a09b77a0f57c1945691db8a https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=81c5ebb0efc4c9803a32fa81d390dc60da8905ac Cheers, -- Arnaud Fontaine [0] http://maven.apache.org/security.html pgp0kgRrm2IdH.pgp Description: PGP signature __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers. Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap
hi Omega, thanks for the patch. Sorry for the delay: I just picked up the freeplane 1.2.x package about a month ago, and I also need to update simplyhtml and libjsyntaxpane-java for the freeplane package to work, so I was quite busy with this ;-) I am also working upstream on freeplane = so I have some questions regarding your patch: - Can we generally apply this patch or could it break something else in some cases? - What is your experience with OpenJDK? Does it work properly (with this patch)? Now that OpenJDK7 has (almost) the same codebase as OracleJDK7 (that's what the OpenJDK folks told me), I think we should try to support it. Re: planning (a) hsqldb transition(s)
Hi, Two weeks later, and rougly one month before the freeze? PING? Can you (= pkg-java and Sebastien!) please answer? Now - *8* months later (yes, I let it slip but it was not very likely to fit the freeze anyway with the non-reaction of the r-dep maintainers) - we are long inside the freeze - so another Debian release with a completely obosolete default libhsqldb-java :/ (And http://bugs.debian.org/670902 got wheezy-ignore.) But we should fix it asap in jeesie. Or is this silent agreement? (If so then please do not complain if a upgrade of libhsqldb-java from 1.8.0.10 to libhsqldb-java 2.2.8 breaks anything - you had advance warning. This is the LAST ping. (See http://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2012/04/msg00408.html and it's References for the context, I _am not_ going to cut'n'paste it here again.) I *will* do this change - and ake LO use libhsqldb1.8-java *for sure* in the next weeks and libsqldb-java will become 2.2.8. I seem to be too nice (or lazy) and actually didn't do it. First part of this is now done, though: - http://packages.qa.debian.org/h/hsqldb/news/20130107T011735Z.html - hsqldb1.8.0 is in NEW: http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/hsqldb1.8.0_1.8.0.10-15.html If hsqldb1.8.0 won't get accepted I still can use internal hsqldb in LibreOffice, so... If one of you still need it, too fine. Just change your packages :) That way is not ideal, but better than carrying oround this hsqldb mess longer without a reply from the r-dep maintainers.) And that upload will directly orphan the package. This isn't yet done, but it will be done when this is in unstable.
