Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes

2013-10-08 Thread ung debian
Hi,

I upgraded eclipse-cdt to testing first, tested the delete/re-import and it
works. I made a static library, a unit test project, a googletest makefile
framework projet, I played with the includes and the settings, did many
delete/re-import and everything works. Then, I upgraded from testing to sid, I
did exactly the same tests (I made new projects to be sure, I did not just
import) and everything works too.

Thank you.

Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes

2013-10-07 Thread ung debian
Hi,

Ill upgrade eclipse-cdt to testing for now. It is not urgent since like you
said eclipse-cdt require few dependencies, but are you planning to release a
backport for this package?
I don't like to mix stable and testing/sid even if it's ok in this special case
and that mean the stable cdt package is unusable for almost the whole debian
stable release. I can't believe no one have reported this bug yet, I mean,
anyone who is doing serious work will need to re-import a project.

Thank you for your recommendation.

2013-10-07 Thread Jakub Adam

Hi,

are you planning to release a backport for this package?

I can think about it, but first please check whether the latest version really
works for you.
If so, I might look into it sometime next week.

Bug#725452: eclipse-cdt: After project delete and import, eclipse doesn't re-import the gcc includes

2013-10-06 Thread ung debian

Package: eclipse-cdt
Version: 8.1.0+dfsg-2
Severity: important

Hi,

I am using wheezy so it's 8.1.0+dfsg-2.
It is possible to fix it even if I use stable? I can't work with that, I must
install another eclipse from sources.
It must works because if I make a new unit test project, I must include
GoogleTest and it won't see it unless I delete the project and re-import it
(closing eclipse and reopening it doesn't work). It keeps GoogleTest and static
librairy includes but doesn't re-import gcc includes so it doesn't work.

Thank you.

2013-10-06 Thread Jakub Adam

Hi,

Is it possible to fix it even if I use stable?

this might be a problem as I don't know the specific patch fixing the issue.
I would recommend to upgrade to CDT from testing or unstable. It has very
few dependencies and will work with Eclipse 3.8.0 from stable.

Package: eclipse

Dear Maintainer,

I reported the bug in eclipse but I use eclipse cdt. I don't know where the bug
come from so I reported it here.
To reproduce the bug, just make a new c++ project, delete it (without deleting
the files) and re-import it. The project will loose all the gcc includes.

Thank you.

Do you mean apache2.0? :)

Hello,

I am planning to upload it soon in the archive. So, if you haven't
tested libedit yet, please go ahead!
Thanks!

Cheers,

I just uploaded in experimental a new upstream version of libedit

It would be nice if you could test if your packages still behave the
same. I am not really worried but since it is an important package, I
 would like confirmations.

Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap

Now this was a WTF moment. I've already said that I'm using OpenJDK7
earlier. So, I investigated how the bug script runs, and how freeplane
works out the Java command - the java-wrappers package is responsible
for JAVA_CMD, and this returns the v6 runtime currently.

Luckily for me I pay attention to what updates day to day (I read the
changelogs every time) - that package recently upgraded to 0.1.26 - I
installed the 0.1.25 version, and suddenly JAVA_CMD returns the correct
v7 runtime! Bugs everywhere!

Running freemind again with the software rendering with the correct v7
runtime is fine - so this is just an old irrelevant bug in OpenJDK6.

I will report the bug I have discovered against java-wrappers now, and
uninstall the v6 runtime since its probably no longer needed.

Thanks for your help - I would not have suspected something messing
around with my runtime version (this was configured at v7 by Debian
alternates months ago).

2013-07-01 Thread Felix Natter
Omega Weapon omegap...@gmail.com writes:

 Package: freeplane
 Version: 1.2.23-1

The situation has now degraded again... I opened a mindmap today, and now
with the software rendering, ends of words are disappearing! See the
attached splash and new mindmap screenshots!

Any idea where I should report this? Its clear changes are being made in
 the Java setup without testing.

I don't think this is specific to Freeplane, it looks more like a
general openjdk issue.

If it persists with the suggestions (see below!), you can ask at the
xrender mailing list (since it failed with -Dsun.java2d.xrender=True),
see here:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/freeplane/viewtopic.php?f=1t=681p=3364hilit=xrender#p3370

Going back to hardware rendering now - I can work around the horizontal
scroll corruption with 'Center highlighted node' somewhat.

 Hi.

Your upload of the package 'tomcat7' to mentors.debian.net was
successful. Others can now see it. The URL of your package is:
 http://mentors.debian.net/package/tomcat7

The respective dsc file can be found at:
 http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tomcat7/tomcat7_7.0.41-1.dsc

If you do not yet have a sponsor for your package you may want to go to
 http://mentors.debian.net/sponsors/rfs-howto/tomcat7
and set the Seeking a sponsor option to highlight your package on the
 welcome page.

You can also send an RFS (request for sponsorship) to the debian-mentors
mailing list. Your package page will give your suggestions on how to
 send that mail.

Good luck in finding a sponsor!

 Thanks,

Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap

2013-06-25 Thread Felix Natter
Omega Weapon omegap...@gmail.com writes:

hi Omega,

On 22/06/13 11:07, Felix Natter wrote:

I talked to Dimitry, the project lead, about the issue. _Roughly_ it's

 - There is only one Thread, so it's not a multi-threading issue.

= *a workaround is to press ESCAPE in this case :-)*

Excellent, a workaround! I'll be looking forward to the next instance
now. I'm grateful for Dimitry's efforts!

Freeplane 1.2.23 has just hit testing :-)

I had hoped to learn Java and then hook into keypresses - some completely
 clueless notes:

Dimitry tried hard to reproduce this with a fixed set of steps, and he
didn't succeed, so it may be hard to do :-(

Sorry to cause such trouble - I'm due to get C++ progression hopefully
within a few weeks, so maybe I'm 0.5y away from reading into Java. Then at
least I will be able to add debugging code to prove what is/isn't
 happening.

 grep -iInr 'getNodeKeyListener'
 src/org/freeplane/view/swing/ui/UserInputListenerFactory.java:192: public
 KeyListener getNodeKeyListener() {
 src/org/freeplane/view/swing/map/NodeView.java:1126:
 mainView.addKeyListener(userInputListenerFactory.getNodeKeyListener());
 src/org/freeplane/core/ui/IUserInputListenerFactory.java:58: KeyListener
 getNodeKeyListener();

These are under the freeplane source
 directory. 'src/org/freeplane/core/ui/IUserInputListenerFactory.java' looks
to be the initial interface which ties Java functionality (KeyListener)
with a method. It looks like
 src/org/freeplane/view/swing/ui/UserInputListenerFactory.java' might allow
me to insert code on keypresses, but theres nothing about keypress events,
just method calls - so it might not be doable without creating my own
 KeyListener method?

I am a Java dev myself, and I don't know how to fix this. I think you
have to dive really deeply into swing _and_ into the freeplane codebase
(like Dimitry does) in order to fix this.

Sounds like more of a hope for me than fighting OpenJDK 7!

Now that we've got the two workarounds, do you think we can close this
bug? You can open a new report if you have problems (with 1.2.23).

I have tried to make a test case to reproduce it, but its not happening -
both fast node creation and node moving hasn't triggered the problem in a
new or old mindmap (my experience with the issue is its pretty
non-deterministic, but at times it hits frequently - i.e. happens, restart
freeplane, happens again in a minute).

The problem started at some point last year, here are my notes up until
February, where I gave up tracking it:

30.12.12: Just had my first failure under OpenJDK v7 - have to assume its
 Freeplane's problem.
08.02.13: Seems to be more easily triggerable when I am using a chord with
the keyboard - e.g. Cntrl + Up/down to move nodes up/down etc. Had this
twice quickly in a row when this happened.
12.02.13: Happened repeatedly whilst I was making C mindmap Language data
 types char*/string escapes nodes.
15.02.13: Probably happens if you press a key between node creation and
finalisation - i.e. create a node or type text into a node and enter then
press another key before the node is 'fixed'.
 27.02.13: Search on 'sizeof' in C programming mindmap - a few Cntrl+Gs
 leads to this issue

 (At
work I tried a recent version and they'd changed the way things were
rendered, making it a lot less space efficient etc - went straight back to
 the 'current' version).

Do you refer to 1.3.x vs 1.2.x or 1.2.x vs 1.1.x?

Anyway, IMHO this is the price for high level java programming and a
rich feature set. Or are you referring to screen space?

Screen space - hence visual comment. I'll stop here now since its been some
months since I tested and my memory is hazy - quick testing right now
 on

I think you can hide every sub-window in Freeplane. Freeplane 1.3.x (not
yet released) will be even more flexible as every subwindow can be
arranged independently.

the work Windows machine shows that nodes are no longer bubbles, automatic
formatting style appears to have changed, icons are not on the side closest
the centre (which is where my eyes scan), etc etc... I guess all that is
just a project to fight to get the appearance back to normal. I also
remember having to mess with DPI to get a similar size, but it looks OK now
 in this test.

If you have a question concerning the new features that you can't figure
out yourself, you can post here:
  http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/freeplane/viewforum.php?f=1

I was imagining I'd need to get C++ and Java progression to fight the
 keyboard issue.

Does the issue also occur with other Java software?

I havent seen this in anything else - freeplane is by far my most used Java
program, but I use Eclipse + PyDev fairly often so I should have had this
happen a few times by now if the problem was more widespread.

According to the above, the keyboard issue is not a JDK issue, but
rather a swing/freeplane issue.

 Thanks!

You're welcome :-)

Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap

2013-06-17 Thread Felix Natter
Omega Weapon omegap...@gmail.com writes:

Very sorry about the delay - I didn't get your email.

Can we generally apply this patch or could it break something else in
 some cases?

So far the change has simply lead to slow graphics rendering in freeplane
(interestingly when you get to the second/third line of a node it suddenly
speeds up mind), but without corruption.

There is a separate failure where freeplane suddenly ignores all keyboard
input, but I later confirmed this also happened under the normal
 graphics

You could try to update to 1.2.23, but I don't know whether that would
fix it (probably not).

engine, so shouldn't be related (I can report this bug, but there is
nothing useful I can say about it - I have to restart freeplane at this
 point).

There was an interesting reply:
  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50850#c13

which states that the XRender pipeline (-Dsun.java2d.xrender=True)
also causes problems (this time when scrolling _vertically_ ;-)
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-7/+bug/1101348

The vertical scrolling bug is reported to be fixed in openjdk-8:
  http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/xrender-dev/2013-January/50.html
= I guess that means we don't get a fix for openjdk-7, but I will ask
on Debian-java (since it's patched on Ubuntu already).

So, to repeat this: the solution is to pass -Dsun.java2d.xrender=True to
java, which can be done by modifying 'JAVA_OPTS' in /usr/bin/freeplane
for the 1.2.23 Debian package (or modify 'defines' for the 1.1.x
package). But that might create problems as well, so you should only use
it if you have visual corruption and I shouldn't include it in
/usr/bin/freeplane of the Debian package at least until the xrender
pipeline is fixed in OpenJDK7 of Debian.

What is your experience with OpenJDK? Does it work properly (with this
patch)? Now that OpenJDK7 has (almost) the same codebase as OracleJDK7
(that's what the OpenJDK folks told me), I think we should try to
 support it.

Currently I use Eclipse, RSSOwl, and now I2P - OpenJDK seems to behave.

That's good to know, I am also using OpenJDK7 in the mean time and have
no major problems.

Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap

2013-06-16 Thread Omega Weapon

Very sorry about the delay - I didn't get your email.

Can we generally apply this patch or could it break something else in
 some cases?

So far the change has simply lead to slow graphics rendering in
freeplane (interestingly when you get to the second/third line of a node
it suddenly speeds up mind), but without corruption.

There is a separate failure where freeplane suddenly ignores all
keyboard input, but I later confirmed this also happened under the
normal graphics engine, so shouldn't be related (I can report this bug,
but there is nothing useful I can say about it - I have to restart
freeplane at this point).

Aside from the strange keyboard issue, the other major failure I've seen
is with Open Wonderland (http://openwonderland.org/) - the
game/experience is unusable, I'm told due to
http://icedtea.classpath.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=568 - you can see
the long thread I had here -
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/openwonderland/-c3P211bjGI).
This of course is non-essential.

I unfortunately have very little free time at hand. If that clears up

Is there a seperate team for that or will it be done by the Java team?

Your help would be very welcome. Tika isn't a trivial beast and there
are many missing dependencies. Here are the ones I identified for
tika-core and tika-parsers:

com.adobe.xmp:xmpcore 5.1.2
org.gagravarr:vorbis-java-tika 0.1
org.apache.felix:org.apache.felix.scr.annotations 1.6.0
org.apache.poi:poi-ooxml 3.8
org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup:tagsoup 1.2.1
com.googlecode.mp4parser:isoparser 1.0-RC-1
de.l3s.boilerpipe:boilerpipe 1.1.0
com.googlecode.juniversalchardet:juniversalchardet 1.0.3

Feel free to pick the ones you like.

tagsoup has been orphaned and removed recently, we have to reintroduce it.

Oh yes, my bad about the architecture.

Anyway, I'd say that the problem is that you have installed:
 * openjdk-6-jre
 * openjdk-7-jre-headless, but not openjdk-7-jre (can you confirm? If
you install openjdk-7-jre, does the bug get solved?)

Geogebra ensures (via its dependencies) that there is at least one
complete (i.e., non headless) JRE installed, but then uses the most
recent one, even if that one is headless. Then GeoGebra dies, because it
requires a working GUI.

I don't know whether there is a general solution to this problem (i.e.,
detecting which installed JREs are non headless and using one of them).
Maybe the Java team has something to comment? (I had a look at
java-wrappers, but there seems to be no provision for this kind of problems)

Thanks.

It appears that the sun-java6-jdk package has been removed from the canonical

It was removed from the Debian mirrors as well; we no longer have
permission to distribute the sun-java in Debian anymore[1]. I suspect
that was the same reason why they disappeared from the canonical mirrors
but I don't know.

I have an urgent and temporary need for this .deb to get me through a test

Hi,

since the release is next week I did a testbuild of the r-deps -
except hsqldb itself of course :-) - now (in a clean sid chroot +
libhsqldb-java from experimental pre-installed):

$ grep-available -FDepends libhsqldb-java -sPackagePackage: hsqldb-server
Package: eucalyptus-java-common
Package: libbiojava1.7-java
Package: libbiojava3.0-java
Package: entagged
Package: libreoffice-base
Package: libopenjpa-java
Package: hsqldb-utils
Package: pixelmed-java
Package: biomaj
Package: paros

openjpa failed to build (see #706176)

The rest did build - so it actually isn't as as bad as I
feared (that of course doesn't say whether it needs other steps to work
like upgrade/re-create whatever db file, but... - at least the biojavas
ran tests which worked, too)

Will upload the new version after wheezy release[1] as announced in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=670902#17

'mvn install' is called during the build and tries to install the
artifacts in the Maven repository in debian/maven-repo. This repository
 created by /usr/share/maven-debian-helper/copy-repo.sh contains absolute
 symlinks to /usr/share/maven-repo.

This probably hasn't come up before because the package builds correctly
in a clean sid chroot. I'm not sure whether this should be treated as a
FTBFS bug or not. The package builds consistently, there are just some
(reasonable?) limitations placed on the build environment.

You could add a Build-Conflicts [1] against antlr3.

Re: Bug#701991: maven3: CVE-2013-0253

2013-03-14 Thread Arnaud Fontaine
Control: reassign -1 src:wagon2
Control: tags -1 + patch

Hello,

This security issue is actually affecting libwagon2-java as, besides of
build improvements, maven 3.0.5 only bumps wagon2 version from 2.2 to
2.4 (should maven be rebuilt when a fixed version has been
uploaded?). Therefore, I'm reassigning this issue to wagon2 instead.

According to [0], it is recommended to upgrade to Maven Wagon 2.4
however this is not really possible as the new version requires (at
least, when testing by changing the required version, I got more
dependency errors later on) libmaven-parent-java = 23 which is not
available in the archive. Moreover, there are many unrelated changes so
the only solution is probably to backport the patches. The issue on
Maven Wagon BTS seems to be:

https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/WAGON-385

And the patches (quite small indeed):

https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=maven-wagon.git;a=commit;h=2f7bb33852cbb9ddb4e1abaa37f282b67bf72af5

As I don't know anything about Maven (I'm just hunting RC bugs ;-)),
could you please confirm that these patches fix this issue? I can later
NMU if it helps.

Also, there seems to have been several other bug fixes (including
security-related ones), not sure if they are really critical, just
pointing out what I have found so far while checking git history from
Maven Wagon 2.2 to 2.4:

Hi,

I noticed a related bug in the Ubuntu bug tracker. It might not be
quite the same issue afaict, but it does suggest that workspace can
become corrupted. This could explain why a eclipse starts with a
clean workspace, but not with the original one.

Bug#669712: [freeplane] RE: freeplane: Visual corruption after scrolling mindmap

2013-01-26 Thread Felix Natter
hi Omega,

thanks for the patch. Sorry for the delay: I just picked up the
freeplane 1.2.x package about a month ago, and I also need to update
simplyhtml and libjsyntaxpane-java for the freeplane package to work,
so I was quite busy with this ;-)

I am also working upstream on freeplane = so I have some questions
regarding your patch:

- Can we generally apply this patch or could it break something else in
  some cases?

- What is your experience with OpenJDK? Does it work properly (with this
patch)? Now that OpenJDK7 has (almost) the same codebase as OracleJDK7
(that's what the OpenJDK folks told me), I think we should try to
  support it.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Re: planning (a) hsqldb transition(s)

2013-01-07 Thread Rene Engelhard
Hi,

Two weeks later, and rougly one month before the freeze? PING? Can you
(= pkg-java and Sebastien!) please answer?

Now - *8* months later (yes, I let it slip but it was not very likely
to fit the freeze anyway with the non-reaction of the r-dep maintainers) -
we are long inside the freeze - so another Debian release with a completely
obosolete default libhsqldb-java :/
(And http://bugs.debian.org/670902 got wheezy-ignore.)

But we should fix it asap in jeesie.

 Or is this silent agreement?
(If so then please do not complain if a upgrade of libhsqldb-java from
 1.8.0.10 to
libhsqldb-java 2.2.8 breaks anything - you had advance warning.

This is the LAST ping. When there will be no reply (well, -med and
Sebastien[1] answered, this targets -java..) I *will* take this as a
silent agreement and do it immediately when the freeze ends
(and libreoffice will directly switch to libhsqldb1.8.0-java).

(See http://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2012/04/msg00408.html and it's
References for the context, I _am not_ going to cut'n'paste it here again.)

I *will* do this change - and ake LO use libhsqldb1.8-java *for sure* in the
next weeks and libsqldb-java will become 2.2.8.

I seem to be too nice (or lazy) and actually didn't do it.

First part of this is now done, though:
- hsqldb1.8.0 is in NEW:
  http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/hsqldb1.8.0_1.8.0.10-15.html

If hsqldb1.8.0 won't get accepted I still can use internal hsqldb
in LibreOffice, so...
If one of you still need it, too fine. Just change your packages :)
That way is not ideal, but better than carrying oround this
hsqldb mess longer without a reply from the r-dep maintainers.)

And that upload will directly orphan the package.

This isn't yet done, but it will be done when this is in unstable.

Regards,

Rene
