I don't think SpamBayes is causing that. Try a Google search for
sbolext.dll.

I upgraded to Microsoft Vista and Outlook 2007

I have SpamBayes version 1.0.4

It was working with Outlook until I upgraded from XP to Vista.

It still works (I think) but every time I start Outlook I get the
following error message (See attached screen shot)

I tried unloading and reloading SpamBayes but to no avail

I looked through the page at sourceforge and could not find anything
either.

HELP

[Spambayes] problem with spambayes

2008-01-02 Thread Karen Lu
Hello,

I'm having a problem with the spambayes installation on one computer in
our network. We are currently using windows XP PRO and have a 2007
version of Microsoft outlook. The version of spambayes that I
downloaded is 1.0.4. I also downloaded python 2.5 for windows. I
restarted the computer after these programs were installed.

Everything seems to download successfully but when I go into outlook,
the spambayes toolbar is visible but it does not work. If I click on
the 'delete as spam' button, nothing happens and there is no automatic
sorting of junk suspects or junk mail.

This is strange since spambayes was successfully added to everyone
else's computer in the office.

Many thanks for your help and happy new year!

Re: [Spambayes] Help

2008-01-02 Thread Jesse Pelton
The screen shot you sent was titled SpamBlockerError.jpg. The contents
appeared to be a message box whose title was Microsoft Outlook and
content included the path
C:\PROGRA~1\SPAMBL~1\Bin\484~1.0\SBOLExt.dll. No mention of SpamBayes,
but the path is consistent with the title. Either you intended to send a
different image or the problem is with something other than SpamBayes
(presumably SpamBlocker).

Sending a copy to the list for posterity. Please reply to all.

 Karen Lu,

You didn't need to install Python*. Python is only necessary when
building from the source code. You should have downloaded and installed
the installer version (.exe). Try it again and make sure that Outlook
is detected and checked by default. If it isn't detected, then
something weird is happening.

* You probably installed Python as a result of Spambayes not appearing
right away.

2008-01-02 Thread Joel Rosenthal
Karen, I suggest that you look in Outlook for a junk mail folder that was
created by Outlook instead of Spambayes. If you find one, delete it. Then
when you click Delete as Spam (mine says simply Spam, the deletion
should work. But also, if your experience is like mine, SpamBayes won't do
anything on its own. But you'll be one step ahead of where you were before.
