[tw] Re: may be the first tiddlyspace in an Indian language
Namaste Raji sir, Tiddlywiki has already made inroads into some Indian languages like Punjabi and Hindi. Possibly others too. There is already a Tiddlywiki in Punjabi on tiddlyspot [1] which intends to make punjabi learning tutorials available to english speaking learners. These are based upon grammer-teaching method. The document is still under construction. Another TW [2] although mainly in english would have Sikh gurus' verses as main reference points, hence would have a lot of punjabi again. This document, again, is still under construction. Tiddlywiki has entered Hindi world too. I personally know a Hindi Lecturer in Chandigarh, who on my suggestion started using Tiddlywiki for her personal writing(offline). Since I am not on active contact with her and since she was still a newcomer to internet (this was last year), I am sure nobody yet taught her the technicals of tiddlyspot or tiddlyspace hosting. Tiddlywiki is also known to some other south Indian users (I cant find the thread in which this came up). Tiddlywiki world welcomes Malayalam, the rich south Indian language. -passingby [1] http://punjabi.tiddlyspot.com/ [2] http://sikhism.tiddlyspot.com/ On Oct 26, 10:45 pm, Raji Chandrasekhar rajichandrasek...@gmail.com wrote: I am a teacher in a Government secondary School, of Kerala, India. Yes, you can :-) But it's not intuitive, at least not with an off-the-shelf TiddlyWiki. You may want to have a look to http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/TiddlyWiki_Markup You could use a WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet editor plugin. Yep, Tiddlyspot uses standard http auth, so browsers generally cache your authentication details until the end of the 'session'. [tw] newbie seeks tutor
hello all my web handle is taione, and i am in search of a fairly avid tiddly- wiki user who would be willing to help me with getting started using tiddly-wiki in my web site. i have been reading the help wiki and other helpful documents and have tonnes of questions which im having trouble answering. the resources on tiddly wiki are quite extensive and honestly the more i read about it the more its been confusing me. i am by no means new to html yet not an expert. im basically seeking someone who will help me get my tiddly-legs so i can run with it on my own. if you would be willing to help or have any helpful suggestions you may contact me at boardwcciii@gmail.com , or on skype as wcciii. thank you in advance for your time it will be appreciated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Image and text placement
Could somebody please advise me how to align an image and text. I have an image [img[./images/clip.png]] and some text All of my stuff to the right of the image. The text is at the bottom of the image - | | | | | | All my stuff and i would like - | | | |All my stuff | | In the tiddler I have {{welcome{[img[./images/clip.jpg]]All my stuff}}} In the stylesheet .welcome{ text-align: left; vertical-align:middle; } But this does not seem to be working... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. In the tiddler I have {{welcome{[img[./images/clip.jpg]]All my stuff}}} In the stylesheet .welcome{ text-align: left; vertical-align:middle; } not sure if this will work, but try putting the alignment on the IMG element rather than the containing class: .welcome img { vertical-align:middle; } HTH, -e Eric Shulman TiddlyTools / ELS Design Studios -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: FamilyTree TW by Jon Robson, need help downloading and setting up
Hello Jon Firstly, Wow! You've created a great tool for anyone researching and cataloging family history. I've created a tree with about 100 names on: http://stempfamilytree.tiddlyspace.com/ I'll continue to update it and add other trees I've researched. Love to know your long term goals for this site. The items below are my personal observations and comments not 'must haves'. It would be great to work with you to develop this site further. Hopefully others will join in too. 1. Location tiddlers tagged with 'place' could show a list of where they are used. Useful for viewing population distribution. Similar to the 'ListOfMen' Tiddler. 2. Places/location fields in the new person tiddler could show suggestions as you type, as with mother, father, spouse? 3. Cannot save edits to SiteTitle and SiteSubtitle. They initially save but when I navigate away from the site it says there are unsaved items. 4. Removed rootTree tag from 'Dad' but it still shows as having rootTree tag when not logged in. 5. Wont allow multiple instances of Tiddlers with same name. Were the figures in brackets on the robsontree site manually typed, eg: Abraham Gartside (497). Perhaps I'm missing something? 6. Pre 1800s in England is was common that only Baptisms and Burials were registered, not births or deaths. Could this be shown as an alternative to Births and Deaths labels? Perhaps radio buttons could be used to select the text prefixes, birth/baptism and death/burial. 7. An individual's age is calculated based on their birth date. If death date is not known could their age be hidden? (I have a few relations shown as being over 400) 8. Clicking on a tiddler from the sidebar centres the mindmap on that individual. This does not work for spouses. Regards Richard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: 2nd, content-only timeline (but keep the 'full' one)
Thanks for explaining in detail, Eric! It didn't do exactly what I wanted: have appropriately tagged tiddlers to be (uniquely) included in the custom timeline rather than excluded from it; and using multiple tags rather than one. Some Javascript-guessing and -browsing later I got it to work: replace var myTag=params.shift(); by var nr_params = params.length; var myTag = []; for(var i=0; inr_params; i++) { myTag[i] = params.shift(); } and replace if (tiddler.isTagged(myTag)) continue; by var belongs = false; for (var i=0; inr_params; i++) { if (tiddler.isTagged(myTag[i])) belongs = true; } if (belongs == false) continue; And now myTimeline contenttype1 contenttype2 contenttype3 looks pretty as pie. :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: 2nd, content-only timeline (but keep the 'full' one)
Hi P, You can much simplify your codebits. Personally I would do it like this using named parameters instead of the params array as a whole... //at the beginning of your handler declare var tgs, //get named params p=paramString.parseParams(null, null, true), //get include and exclude inc=getParam(p,'include','').readBracketedList(), ex=getParam(p,'exclude','').readBracketedList(); //Later... //Get tags and check them... tgs=tiddler.tags||[]; if( !tgs.containsAny(inc)|| tgs.containsAny(ex) )continue; So your macro would read... myhistory include:'this tag [[or that]] tag' exclude:'excludeHistory' -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Thanks for the quick response colm!
