My mast drains out a half inch tube from the mast. In the winter I have a vinyl hose that goes out through a transducer hole and keeps the bilge dry. I have a felt wick inside that tube to pull it uphill where need be. In the summer it drains into a plastic pan, and I try to get down there after

On the 1989 34R, the maststep is a deep welded aluminum box with wooden spacer blocks in front and behind. The box originally had one 1/2" drain hole but the wooden blocks always looked wet. I added two 3/8" drain holes and also scallopped the bottoms of the wooden blocks so they left a path
