That's one solution. The other would have been (although non-obvious) to set both accounts as "Deposit". That's allowed in the csv importer. Deposit and Withdrawal come from the early days of the importer and don't cover all use cases very well. "Deposit" here really means, use the number

I had similar problems and I solved it by turning on "trading accounts" . This way there are no exchange rates involved in individual transactions, but instead each transaction is balanced to a currency trading account. To correct any existing transactions I then had to click on it and accept

Ok, I figured this one out eventually as I had an unintentional oversight. The header of the CSV file is the one which caused the issue. I had to ensure that the header is not taken into consideration by increasing the "Leading Lines to Skip" by 1 as my CSV file had a header. -- Sent from:

One bank I use allows me to customize a set of Categories. The categories can have hierarchy denoted with “/“. There is a facility for static mapping of text found in the description and the categories. I would like to create categories at the bank which will match the accounts in GNUCash.
