I can't say that I understand the circle thing, but the P Report looks
correct. I also keep an Excel spread sheet just for Sales by year, and
it's total for this year is slightly different from the P Report.
I've probably made an error somewhere.
Many thanks,
Howard

The "Cash Flow" report probably is not what you really want.
What that report does is allows you to draw a circle around a set of
accounts and it will summarize all the transactions that cross that
boundary. Any transaction fully inside the circle or fully outside the
circle is ignored. Most
Hello,
My Cash Flow Report for 01/01/2021-12/31/2012 (or 01/01/2021-Today)
shows wildly incorrect values, specifically the "Money In" and "Accounts
Receivable" amounts. For example, in the complete Account display,
Accounts Receivable shows X (which is correct). But in the Report, it
shows

Honestly, I’ve yet to make heads or tails of that report and have it even
remotely look useful to tell me anything about my financial activity.
Certainly, the default account selections produce some odd results as you

Hello,
On the Cash Flow report:"Money out of selected accounts goes to"I have a
listing of "Assets:Accounts Receivable"
Am I incorrect that this should not be there?
Is it possible an invoice got un-posted, a change was made,
the invoice was posted again, but the money did not got re-applied?

Adrien,
I think with the default account selection, the Cash Flow report seems to do
the right thing. The double selection of accounts seems a bit strange, I
haven't really got a proper set of business accounts to check it out on
anymore and the dummy set I have put together have been for testing
I too am not clear on what the GnuCash version of the Cash Flow report is
supposed to be. It is nothing like any such report I’ve seen from my accounting
texts or any resource on the subject online.
I get that it generally tells you where money is coming from and where it is
going, but the
Martijn,
I can't really comment on the Cash Flow reportas implemented in GnuCash and
it's options but the doubling of accounts in the selected list when the show
subaccounts is selected does appear to be strange and may be a bug. My
understanding of a Cash Flow Report is that it includes:

Hello,
I have the new version of GNU.
When I look at the options for the build-in 'cash flow' report, there is the
option to turn "Always show sub-accounts" on and off.
When I turn the option off, the total 'money in' amount is differentas when
it's on, even though the same accounts are checked.
