Running Windows 2000 Server at the moment between a few servers. I have to

Installation of Imail on a Win2003 Enterprise server was really a no-brainer -
had no problems at all.

This assumes that the intruder has access to the IMail machine's
registry...IMHO if this is so I would think you have bigger problems than
just grabbing passwords..

So you would expect a mail with an attachment xxx.com to be deleted, but
mail from xxx.com to be delivered right?
So why is this happening:

Like Eric said ... this is only an issue if your mailserver has already been
compromised and that's a much bigger problem. As far as the passwords go
unless you're implementing encryption pop is sent in clear text and all
someone needs is access to the network your mail server is on. After that
speaking of which... is there a way to utilize POP/IMAP and SMTP SSL
security with Imail?

As pointed out prior. If the person using the tool as access to the
registry (either hacked in or local console) their obtaining the IMail
passwords is certainly the least issue for concern.
However, as a legitimate Admin tool this thing is great.
Anyone tried it on a 8.12 box?

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm preparing to move IMail Server v8.05 from NT 4to a win2k server. I
assume the Ipswitch instructions
(http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19980116-JB11.htm) are all that's needed.
In addition, I will be moving Declude JunkMail/Virus Pro. I expect this

The upgrades I have done from 2000 to 2003 went fine, as long as the
hardware is checked. You may also want to uninstall any AV software before

I have moved iMail several times since I have started with this company.
Other than Imail's instructions there should not be a hitch. Make sure that
you back up the registry and such. As long as you put domains and virtual

My guess is the ip address the mail::sendmail is using is not allowed to
relay. Do you know what ip address the mail::sendmail is using to send from.
Make shure that address is allowed to relay.

I did just bind some new IP addresses to the server, so maybe that is the problem (I
can't remember if I did that after this problem started or just before :- )...
The IP of the server didn't change though, and that was already on the list of trusted
IP addresses in Imail, so I wouldn't think

The 550 not local host error was from the script itself. These are from my imail

And no, I don't have mac.com setup as a local domain.
And I got the same log entries for a ton of other domains I tried to send to that day.
I was thinking the error was in that IP address in the log

Check how often that the mail client polls the server for any new messages.
I've experienced this problem with Outlook being set to check the server

recommend checking every 5 or 10 minutes.
Hope this helps.
