If users will be checking mail from 2 or 3 different locations use IMAP
instead of POP and just have them purge the deleted messages when they no
longer need them. Much more reliable than the settings in Outlook or OE that

Check your AV logs to see what it has done over the night. And remove

I had some issue with mail not being
downloaded by OE (in pop) if they were marked as read in webmail or with an IMAP account
Maybe this is the problem? As soon as you mark the message as unread
in webmail (or with IMAP) it fixes the problem

Thanks I will bear that in mindSpace isn't an issue anymore, so I'll
look into setting that up.
Still doesn't explain why I had missing messages though :-(

When you mark mail that has been read read
to unread on the web mail interface your mail client will re-download
it. Ive done this for a few of the less organized people here.

Removing the spool directory will only
stop incoming/infected e-mails from being orphaned or deleted. Was the users
directory removed from the scan? If it was, then this is not your
problem.

We added a lot more logging in SMTP processing for Verbose. If you don't
need all the extra logging you can turn off Verbose and Debugging under the
SMTP service tab.

Quick question. How do you stop mail from creating and going into the IMIP
folder. I guess any meeting notifications, say sent from Microsoft Outlook,
automatically goes there, and I want to stop it so everything just goes to
their inbox.
Thanks

I've been curious about the IMIP.* files myself.
Do they get cleared automatically by some IMail process or are they just
a black
They will stay until deleted. I think you can use the immsgexp.exe utility
to clean them out
imssgexp -tc:\imail\users -d1 -mimip.mbx
Where -t = directory to start looking for the mailboxes recursively
-d = number of days to expire by
-m = name of mailbox if left blank
Tim,
Assuming that you do not use Calendaring, that you have disabled
Calendaring, you can set the following registry entries so that the IMIP
mailbox is NOT created. Substitute the actual domain name for
The_Domain_Name and substitute the actual username for The_User_Name.
For each domain:
Hi All,
I have a situation where I need to be able to have one IMAP mailbox to

The clients are currently using outlook express as the Imap client. I am
running Imail 8.20.
The problem I see is that the clients start to have different views of
the mailbox, that is it gets
