We had this problem when we upgraded from 8.15 to 8.20. As a result we are
stuck at 8.15 (and will probably stay there until we migrate to another
product). When a hotfix was released we would try it out only to discover
they hadn't fixed the problem and have to roll it back. At this
 point we're
 not planning any future upgrades.

My users seem to be receiving more and more PDF attachments. It seems that
more an more of them are being corrupted. Is any one else out there having
 this issue.

The corruption only seems to happen when IMail sends the message
 outbound to
 our gatewayed domains.

So we could try deleting what is on the control access list and that

Your HELO looks fine, although it does have a few more periods than most,

Since the RDNS records for the IP your server is trying to connect to has
imgate in one of the records, maybe some one on this list will notice that

I installed Imail 2006 and was able to send without a problem. And even
now
some mail goes through. I contacted GoDaddy and they claim Imail is not
sending the email correctly to their server and that is why it is being
rejected. Can't tell me what it wrong, but it is definitely Imail's
 fault(they say).

I can't imagine why this is being rejected, but below is the error my

receive. And the strangest thing is that some mail goes through.

Id rather wait until they get some more bugs worked out, but Im just trying to think ahead.

Yes I can ping the server. I can get to it from another computer .. My only
problem is with the user manager and the java sctipt that runs on that .. I
also have a java script error for trying to get to the IM portion of the
sever... I can get to http://my.server.com:2055/IAdmin/index.asp where it
list the 2 selections Imail and IM. When clicking on Imail Server I am able
to see the other selections but I get an error when I click on the users...
And when navigating though the server I see

Error Message
The Domain does not exist

Error Message
The Domain does not exist

At random.. Sometimes it is there and some times not. Again this is a clean
install of 2006 on a windows 2000 server running IIS. If I need to do a
complete reinstall of the server because I missed something that is fine. I
just need to know where to go from here... I don't how ever care to
reinstall the server and then have it not work after the reinstall.

Again the error I get when click on Manage Users

Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a138f'

'oDomain.UserDatabaseFlags' is null or not an object

/IAdmin/IMail/UserAdmin.asp, line 34

And when clicking on alais Administration

/IAdmin/IMail/AliasAdmin.asp, line 12

And then on click IM server

RE: [IMail Forum] Some mail being rejected by GoDaddy gateway mail server.

2005-12-09 Thread joe
Thanks again, I jsut realized that I forgot to mention that
this server is a dedicated server leased from GoDaddy. I have to
send all outgoing mail through thier mail gateway which is the
k2smtpout.secureserver.net. Therefore the helo message is
actually coming from their mail server not mine. They block all
traffic on port 25 outgoing from my server except to their gateway.

Does anyone use a dedicated server anywhere that they like? One
thatwill let you send your own email outbound? I am not too
impressed with their tech support's lack of desire to help fix a
problem.I have the need to lease a server that is not located
in my part of the country seeing as Hurricanes run us off alot and it
is a pain to have to have alternate locations and deal with the
nightmare of dns changes, etc.

Re: [IMail Forum] Some mail being rejected by GoDaddy gateway mail server.

2005-12-09 Thread Jeffery R. Rehm
We've been having emails rejected by GoDaddy all of a sudden. The weird
part is it seems to be rejecting based on the X-Mailer because the
rejected messages are those sent from GoldMine, but the emails sent by
our fax server get through fine. Both apps are using the same SMTP server.

[IMail Forum] Imail 2006 Comments

2005-12-09 Thread Eric Coffman

I just did a test install of Imail 2006 as an upgrade of an 8.22 server. I use ODBC to SQL server for my user database as I have Imail integrated with my portal. I made a second copy of my database on a test server, copied all the Imail 8.22 files and data to a test server and got it running, then installed 2006 over it essentially upgrading it. It all went very smooth and worked without problems.

My immediate comment is "Wow". It is so much better than the 8.x webmail I can't even describe. It adds much better folder management, an HTML message composer, spell check that actually works, and a nice modern looking interface. In Imail 8.x the webmail would mess up long URLs by linking only half of the URL, and it would screw up display of HTML messages more often than not (and forget forwarding HTML messages). Now that is all resolved. I love that the version 8.x mailbox files work in 2006.

Here are the things I noted to be problems for me:

- There is no PDA mail. There wasn't before but I had written one using the old template system. I hope there is one coming as the new templates do not seem to change friendly.

- Webmail does not have a page title. It simply says the http://myip.com/IClient/default.aspx. The default.aspx page is generated via .net code and I could not find a way to add a simple title tag to it.

- There is no way for users to see how much of their disk quota they have used. What is the point of setting a quota and not showing users how they are doing?Screenshots of my mail templates are here:

http://mercury.hsc.wvu.edu/imail/screenshot001.jpg Desktop Main Page
http://mercury.hsc.wvu.edu/imail/screenshot002.jpg PDA Main Page
http://mercury.hsc.wvu.edu/imail/screenshot003.jpg PDA Message List
http://mercury.hsc.wvu.edu/imail/screenshot004.jpg Desktop Viewing Message

- There is no way to show how many unread messages there are from outside the mail program. (Similar to the You've Got Imail addin). I want to have an envelope icon in my portal and have it indicate if there are unread messages in their mailbox. I can do this now in 8.x using something like You've Got Imail did. This is not possible in the 2006. I may have to resort to a 3rd party asp based imap component.

- There is a user preference to change the "reply to" address. This actually changes the persons email address in the Imail database. Problem is if you change your reply to address you LOSE all of your contacts. Change it, log out, log in and see for your self.

- Certain features in Web Admin pop an authentication box. Probably for good reason but it seems like it is a broken product when it does that from a clean install.

- Contacts are saved in an Access database. Just seems stupid since my user database is in an SQL Server. One more thing to get corrupt :)

Anyone using this in production for 1000 users and having success? Once I find a way to deal with the above issues I would love to upgrade.

Eric

we've got an SSL on our webmail and when we switch to
web admin it puts it into regular http. This should be smart enough to
detect if not demand SSL.
