Totally agree with you, Paul. I know I'm being picky, but the welds on my
Roadini look pretty sloppy. Best believe it's going up for sale just so
long as (1) the Lugged Leo has the same snappy ride quality and (2) it
comes in blue. Not sure what compelled me to sell my Soma SanMarcos ten

I forgot to add that the one summer I worked in a bike shop, a great deal

There is truly no equal to Blue Lug. As Eric said, the combination of
perfectly curated builds combined with excellent photography and an eye for
getting the best angles. A lot of great shops out there, but BL are on
their own level.
I also really appreciate how they note the frame size for

Valerie, I would love to hear every single thing you say about this bike. Do you have sweepy bars? Drop bars? Have you ridden it on a club ride? Do you find it to be quick and lively? What was the reason you bought your Charlie? I don’t know why the lugged Roadini, either. Anyone know?LeahOn May
I always toss grip shifts and replace with microshift. $20, best money you
can spend on a rehab. But I agree, friction would have been better.

I just finished tweaking the set up on my 2022 Gallop demo - purple with
swoop tube, non-canti version. It rides like a dream. Super silky and
nimble. One mistake I had made was to install a heavy duty pannier rack on
it. It made the bike feel very noodley. I was tempted to sell it. I think

Pics of the Ridge Searcher? (And who comes up with these names? It's as bad
as pharmaceuticals.)
As to why bike mfrs complicate what is really a very simple and easily
learned action -- shifting a chain to different cogs or rings -- I think
it's largely marketing: #1: make it idiot-proof (*) so

I recently finished rehabbing a '95 Schwinn "Ridge Searcher" that was in
very neglected condition. It was given to a lady who has little or no
money by someone who had "stored the bike away in the basement" for many
years without any maintenance. Bad a shape as it was in - and it was

Oh, and Leah: you really must give a good quality, light, and well set up
drop-bar road bike a try. Really, for modestly energetic riding there is,
IMO, nothing like a well designed drop bar (ie: Maes Parallel). If your new
road bike fit you as well as this bike fits me, you'd be twice as fast as
I'm curious about the whole lugged Roadini thing now. The Susie I
understand because its a cost/time of manufacture thing but in the case of
the Roadini it basically is just upping the cost. Unless the feeling is
that a lugged model will just sell better regardless of a higher price.

I saw the mention of the lugged Roadini. I am 99% certain I will order one
once they become available.

According to Rivendell Reader, the suggested seat height is 69-72cm for
this. My PBH is 83, and I am 170cm tall. I'd wager I'm on the short-side
for this bike, despite my saddle (71-72cm) being in range.

The Rivendell product schedule is like a fever dream.
So many variations on one theme -- or maybe two themes. Go-fast yet
comfortable, which are the most interesting bikes to me (Roadini, Gallop,
AHH, maybe Sam), plus the long

Doing some spring cleaning and listing the following up for sale:

Ultradynamico grey cycling cap - *20$ shipped *

There is a lugged Roadini coming? Has that been discussed before?
