I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I was reading man pages and saw
something about 'pacmd', so I was poking around in that shell. Found the
command 'list-source-outputs' and ran it first when recording (successfully)
with Sound Recorder, then ran it when unsuccessfully attempting to
while trying to video/audio chat in empathy, here's the output.

I made those adjustments, but no change. Here's the output of 'amixer
-c0 scontents' again. I'm still able to record sound on my own computer
with audacity/sound recorder, but chat clients don't pick anything up.
