What is the status of the proposed changes made by Jesse? I found that
11.10 did not include kpartx the changes he proposed. Doing it by
hand myself, it worked, but as soon as any change is made that would
rebuild initrd.img, the kpartx files the changes have to be redone.

Why it suddenly has a problem after release upgrade seems to be a mystery!
There are a lot of proposed workarounds, but non of them has brought my eth0
back alive on boot.

debugging symbols and it now seems to be working okay. There is
something in the config I previously posted that makes things weird. The
question is how can we track it down?

I have seen in many previous posts that the BUG was fixed and the issue was
closed. In the contrary this one here seems to be relatively fresh/alive and
does not suggest that BUG was killed. Although, relatively recent, I have
encountered the same problem that exists now for more than 5 years.
What kind of design is that? To confuse users?
Why Ctrl+Alt+D? How intuitive is Ctrl+Alt+D? Maybe we'll design
minimize window to be under, say, Ctrl+Alt+I and maximize under
Alt+Shift+B to be more user friendly? Crazy, but if the point is to
scare the users off - congratulations on good design.

several kernel panics on my eee 1000h + Ubuntu 11.10 (3.0.0-12 and also

the proposed fix for bug 880707 did I notice the stuttering (after I
uninstalled my fix the stuttering became obvious).

switch users (which takes me to a login screen)
suspend (the button at the top right of the login screen)
... the system suspends ok.
I resume from suspend
I login again.
Now the session is restored correctly.
