Fwiw, the lines not re-painting properly might be the same as a recently
fixed kernel bug, so that aspect may have gone away now. But that bug
didn't display corruption when resizing xterms, and wasn't particular to

Alright, well black screen on boot issues that occur with kernel
modesetting but not userspace modesetting are kernel bugs. Too a more
actionable set of logs weren't collectable, else I could have at least
forwarded it upstream.
But now it sounds like a lot worse problems are at play, but
kolio, not sure what you're talking about. The Radeon HD 5650 came on
the market on Jan 7, 2010, so it did not exist 2 or 3 years ago.

I have blacklisted intel_ips because of symbols issues.

I confirm the same issue, with Maverick 64bit on my Laptop Hp Touchsmart Tm2.
It happens not every time, but randomly. For me, not only while trying tu
suspend, but also when trying to shutdown. It shuts down eventually, but need
near 3 or 4 minutes.
