howdy funsters

reading 'Last Night a Dj Saved My Life : The History of the Disc
Jockey' by Bill Brewster, Frank Broughton

the chapters on disco and house are pretty good, lotsa innaresting stuff
even for a trainspotter like self. however it isn't very well written
throughout and for some reason the authors often deride techno for being
'overburdened with theory' (???) pretty rich for a couple of guys writing
a book about it...anyway. with reservations...it's a good book about disco
and house, well researched and thorough. also chapters on northern soul,
hip hop, reggae.
