For our first CD project we present a compilation package of the recent Pub:
Summer project, which includes both parts one and two (taken from VFORM003 &
VFORM004) with additional, specifically commissioned mixes from both Vladislav
Delay and Arovane which were not released on either of the vinyl releases. In
total, the project clocks in at over sixty minutes in length, effectively and
consistently documenting the outcome of a large scale production projectwhich
includes some of the most exciting, innovative and talented and producers on
the current electronic scene.

The opening cut sees the original version of 'Summer' in its full 16 minute
long epic format which lays the foundation and starting point for the project
to be built upon. This original version is a masterfully and beautifully
crafted electronic masterpiece, which delves deeply into the blissed, melodic
and aquatic side of atmospherics and electronics. With the fusion of heart
moving melodies alongside expertly executed delayed and compressed sound
formations, the groove develops into a beautifully shaped piece, that produces
quite unique and special results.

To follow, Helsinki based Vladislav Delay delivers the first of two stunning
reconfiguration's providing us with a chilled, moving outlook on the 'Summer'
sound. By approaching production without the use of any sound sources, samples
or sequences, the reconfiguration was composed entirely as Delay's own vision
of certain thought provoking and unique elements of the original. Through
turning and recalculating this musical vision back into a completely new
groove, the initial detailed melodic elements of the original are restructured
in a much deeper, crisp and more experimental direction. In total, the piece
lasts over eighteen minutes, with a number of differing structural and textural
changes continuously added and withdrawn at varying stages of the groove's
development, keeping the depth and feel continually fresh without ever losing
direction.

On the third cut, Berlin based Arovane applies his trademark electronic
trickery to the mix, completely reinventing the original and producing quite
simply, classic results. As with many of his productions and remixes emphasis
is based heavily around the use of strong melodies and deep moving
atmospherics, with this piece being no exception. In doing so, production is
approached by carefully picking up on particular melodies present in the
original and by completely rebuilding the rhythmic mechanics of the groove.
With structure and form in place, an inspiring selection of heart moving
chords, strings and melodies are played over an endless groove with the final
outcome evolving into nothing short of electronic perfection.

Next up, Vertical Form regular Nick Rapacccioli simultaneously redefines and
restructures the 'Summer' sound in an equally fresh and inspiring direction.
Using his signature style manipulative production techniques along with a heavy
'Berlin' influence, a whole new groove is written and created entirely from his
own vision of the original in a differing context. The outcome is an entirely
different take on the project, with the results being a much deeper, more
diverse and conceptual arrangement which will undoubtedly appeal to anyone with
an interest in the mechanics and new direction of modern electronic music.

Track five continues with the research of deeper and more diverse experiments
in sound, with Vladislav Delays second take on 'Summer' once again providing us
with one of his untouchable sonic adventures into the world of chilled, icey
soundtrack styled atmospherics. In reducing and reconstructing his first mix
along with the subtraction of certain rhythmics and metalwork, greater emphasis
is placed on structure of sound and the dark post industrial atmosphere of the
initial groove. The outcome documents a deep and intense excursion which quite
literally draws you captive from beginning to end.

Finally, to conclude the project, Arovane provides us with his second
instalment of advanced electronic funk. Steering away from his usual sound and
groove format and adopting an almost more techno approach to the construction
of the mix, the outcome of the piece develops into a groove somewhat
reminiscent of early Chain Reaction outputs from the likes of Substance and
Various Artists. The piece itself was designed and created to coincide with
his first take on 'Summer', in which the interpretation was built predominantly
around the recreation of selected chords and melodies sourced from the original
cut. In this instance, production was approached by redirecting the atmosphere
and mood that the original creates, resulting in an entirely new and fresh
direction on the project and offering a level of production and inventiveness
of the most professional order.

In all, through a selection of unique, challenging and uncompromising recording
artists, the project offers over sixty minutes of music that successfully
manages to incorporate the conventional and unconventional sensibilities of
techno, the open minded, diverse nature of modern electronics and the warm,
moving feeling of groove based atmospherics. A listening experience that won't
easily be forgot, we're sure you'll agree.
